Last I heard he was hoping to secure a big payday before hanging up the gloves. As far as I know he has not retired.

Carl has been great value for money over the years and it would be great for him to get a nice big payday before he retires,

'The Cat' has been a great asset to British boxing over the years, he deserves one last BIG payday.

It would be nice if he could secure himself a world title shot. A rematch against Nelson or even O'Neil Bell.

If he does not fight again , who will ever forget his classic vs Rothmann.

Thanks for the memories.

Tom Podmore.

Thompson has indeed been great value for money. Let's get him in with Macranelli. That would be a good fight I'm sure...

I'm pretty sure he could take Enzo... but I doubt Carl will get that fight. A rematch with Haye would be great and if Haye wants to be taken seriously thats a fight he should be wanting....... :box:

Yeah i never thought about sticking Carl in with Enzo, that would be a good fight. If Enzo did the business then that would surely have him one up on Haye in his mind. I hope Thompson gets his payday soon though, he is not getting any younger and he can't afford to wait too long.

Carl has gone nowhere and is in the gym training hard he did have a leg injury which has now cleared up.
He is supposed to be on the Hatton U/card he wants a IBF Title fight or eliminator

Thompson - Nelson II.
Anyone else remember how controversial the first one was?
I think its a fight people would be interested in and its not like these 2 have an abundance of options at this point in their career. Haye has moved on and Maccarinelli would likely give 'The Cat' a hiding (which I don't want to see again) with the only question mark being could Carl dig out another monster right to claim victory fro the clutches of defeat.
For me Carl is the most exciting, brave and basically decent human being who has ever graced a British ring. God bless him! :TU:

The Cat would make a welcome addition to the Hatton undercard.
