Torlin: New Fidel LaBarba Bouts
Torlin: New Fidel LaBarba Bouts
What's your source for those news LaBarba bouts you entered. I've done an exhaustive search of many Pacific Northwest papers hunting for Leslie (Wildcat) Carter bouts, and all seem to agree that he had only two bouts with LaBarba, not three. (Most, if not all, record books have their S.F./Oakland bout off by a day. I have a copy of the original article.)

Torlin,
Also on Tony Galento 1969 RRB, those bouts were later super-seceded by a record that appeared in the 86-87 edition. Those bouts that were entered were either wrestling matches, exhibitions, or phantom bouts. Don't feel bad, your like the third or fourth person who has done this. Maybe Galento's record needs to be password protected. 8)

Per the LOS ANGELES TIMES, none of those three bouts exist.
Feb. 3, 1927 @ Hollywood. Nothing mentioned in the Times. Rather, the Hollywood Legion Stadium had a card the next night, with Doc Snell vs. King Tut, among others.
Jan. 24, 1932 = Sunday. Hollywood didn't have boxing on Sundays.
Feb. 11, 1932 = nothing mentioned in the paper. LaBarba was a huge name in California and worldwide that any bout with him would have made headlines in the sports pages of L.A. In fact, the Feb. 12 edition mentions his upcoming bout with Varias Milling; that's it. Finally, Hollywood had its card the following night, on the 12th, with Midget Wolgast & others.
Another example of the RRB being incorrect sometimes.
