Er, no. Froch had his ear perforated early on against both Glen Johnson and Pascal; he managed to carry on, albeit somewhat more sluggishly. Why? Cos he has a good chin.andeeholden wrote:See, although we know there are question marks surrounding DP's chin, I think people are getting a little ahead of themselves with respect to expecting TT to find his chin and put him down.MightyWarrior wrote:I've backed TT to win @ 100/30 - though I should have gone for TT by KO...I'll probably get on that as well.
Price will be looking to box at a distance, but I can't see that chin holding out for long, especially as TT knows it won't take much to have the big man wobbling like a drunken sailor.
The Jonathan Banks result was a worry though, hopefully they don't have the same mananger.
That didn't even happen in the first fight. TT landed a blow on the left side of DP's head and perforated his eardrum, and having suffered this myself once playing rugby, I can promise you that not only does it hurt, but first comes the loss of balance and all co-ordination which is what we saw with Price. He wasn't hurt when he was stumbling around on the canvas and struggling to stand upright. TT hadn't 'done a number' on his chin and I don't think we ought to suspect DP's chin any more than we did before the first fight. The shot landing was no fluke, but the damage it did was.
Anyone who caught that shot would be susceptible to the same fate. Regardless of your mental toughness or heart to carry on, if your balance is shot you've had it.
DP will try to imitate a Wladimir style jab and keep TT on the end of it. A cautious DP UD or late KO/TKO for me
Even if we ignore the Thompson defeat, Price got bounced off the canvas more than enough as an amateur to suggest his chin is poor.
