Surely you do the exactly opposite?

In terms of "fights" yes Wilder is experienced with 28 bouts, but in terms of real experience there is nothing there. 48 rounds Is no experience for a guy who has been a pro for over 4 years.

What they should do with Joshua is get him in with tough but limited guys that will take him 4-6 rounds regularly as opposed to being blasted out.

Wilder has been in the 4th round twice-we have no idea what his stamina is like, we know he's been down officially once (and been down on at least 1 other occasion). Who would have though Price's gas taken would have been empty after 4 rounds on Saturday?

It's great having power but don't use it all the time, sometimes you need to know more about yourself as a fighter than "well, I can bang"

Not to sound a sour note before Joshua has thrown a punch but he really was carried through the Olympics. He lost a couple of times. He looked stiff and laboured, a manufactured boxer. I don't think he'll make it.

FFS. If it was that easy why weren't you there?
The guy was a prodigy. He had little amateur experience but still qualified for the Olympics and WON.
He is a natural athlete with heavy hands. So long as he serves his pro apprentice somewhere out of the limelight such as deep in the States or Germany, gets good quality sparring and a good HW trainer and learns the pro game quietly (unlike Audley) he stands a very real chance of doing something good for the UK in the pro game. Time will tell but he looks suited to the pro game and clearly has a lot of desire and natural ability. Good luck to the lad.
