Guerrero will give Kell fits. That's the main reason that one won't be made!

Ie so he'll be put in with someone who wont challenge him really! It's disappointing.

From here on its about keeping him ticking over and in contention for the title shot. It's not about giving him 50/50 fights.

I think it will harm his chances. He has the talent to beat someone like Alexander but won't be seasoned enough when the chance comes back around.

Like you say though, feeding him guys who arent really going to challenge him arent going to prepare him for when he does eventually step up! For instance Maidana would of been a good fight and he's a guy that Alexander dominated so if he cant be dealing with these guys then he should drop back down to european or british level. As the saying goes... if you cant handle the heat, get out of the kitchen!

Well they were more than happy to stick him in with Devon before all the injury troubles so it seems pretty clear they think he is ready. Can't see them risking his position now.

The thing that makes it worse for me though is that a lot of these guys they wont put Kell in are naturally smaller guys! Guerrero came up from lightweight and probably could still make that weight if he really wanted to or atleast 140 and Maidana and Alexander alike came up from 140. Same as Lopez and Ortiz. Kell is a guy that has trouble making welterweight and is huge for the weight!

(Ignoring the strange weight issue) All those fighters would be serious big name fights and proper tests for Kell Brook..

it seems to be rumoured to be Lopez, who is NOT a big name fighter. He's been in with some top guys but apart from Ortiz' jaw busting, Maidana beat him well and Canelo destroyed him. I still think he's a small Welterweight and whilst the hardcore fans will know him from his last 3 fights, to call him a big name is just a load of tripe.

It's a step up for Brook and he will definitely get a scrap, but the hyperbole is bollocks from Hearn.

I look forward however to Groves getting smashed up by Froch, and Quigg getting a shot at a belt he deserves.

There's no getting round putting him in 50/50 fights from here. Fans won't have it for one. Also mandatory situation isn't all that clear cut. He can't be boxing the Carson Jones of the world for a year then suddenly be expected to step up in class. Senchenko and Lopez inside next 6 months then Ortiz/Guerrero/Maidana/Paulie after that. He should win them all and it's small step up in class each time.

Because it is a big decision for Joshua to make and he wants to make absolutely sure he is making the right choice. When you make lifechanging decisions do you just go 'bah eff it I'll go with that one, what's the worst that can happen?'
1 year is a very long time ! IMO his wasted a year of good boxing experience

A year out for Joshua and whilst the decision is a big one would that delay have ended up costing him a good portion of what he would have gotten as a signing on fee in 2012?

Couldn't agree more regarding Joshua. He hasn't even competed since London has he? Hopefully he has been getting some top sparring in that time.

He should be super hungry at this stage in his career.

I always thought the point of not turning over straight away was to get more experience as a fighter.

It pains me but I have to agree he is not ready for the Ghost by a long shot and I don't believe they could make it happen at all .

They could make it happen quite easily if they payed him a fair amount.

Because im getting sick of tired of waiting for him to step up to the top level! At the moment he's a protected fighter. Anyway, im a boxing fan period, not a Kell Brook fan. I dont support fighters purely because they're british. I like fighters based on what they do in the ring and on their calibre of opposition.

If true that leaves Mosley, Lopez, Guerrero or Van Heerdeen. I seen on another thread there is potential talk of Lopez fighting on the Mayweather card..

Lopez will get high profile work regularly as he gets stuck in and takes his lumps, a loss or 2 hasn't hurt him. If they can get Brook in with him I reckon he's the one that Kell would beat 'most easily' - it'd still be a hard fight though. I reckon that Van Heerdeen will take some shifting.
