the count is 10 not 8. Scott beat the count and was in a position to continue. the ref fucked up.

Yeah a lot of referees would have let it continue especially in the States,if it was a young British fighter having his 1st world title attempt abroad and the odds were stacked against him and he was in a very close fight which he would go on to lose on points,if somehow the same thing happened(Brit boxer knocked down champ) only this time the ref allowed the fight to continue then you would imagine the british fighter and his camp would be upset that the ref allowed the bout to go on

I always thought the fighter had to be up by 8,ah well you live,you learn
The plethora of warnings against Scott whilst Chisora got not a single warning for multiple similar infringements suggests ref Phil Edwards was always going to count him out whatever number he rose at.

I'm sure you could have found a fight from this country where they boxed on after nine or vice a versa over there it's not something that happens in every fight so why should Scott have been aware of any differences.

I can appreciate you feel strongly and I have seen boxers who when dropped heavily have pounded the ring floor in anger and frustration and listened to the count and stood at 8 and continued. Scott was doing very well in the bout and it was the first time he'd been caught hard to the head and he was far too casual about being down, smiling etc. The ref wasn't 'in the mobs pocket', it wasn't a fix; Scott ballsed up and he will feel awful about it today. I hope they rematch on the next big show AND it's over 12, so no excuses.

He got up! He beat the count! Could he have got up earlier? Yes he could. Did he want to box on? Who knows, probably not. The fact that he beat the count and was not on queer street means is was a dodgy stoppage.
