Peter easily hits harder than Chisora but 'better'? I'd have to disagree. Peter lost the first Wlad fight because of his own appalling physical condition, overweight, huffing and puffing with his jaw hanging down from very early. An unforgivable loss really since Wlad looked on the brink of another implosion several times.

For the rematch Peter was a totally spent force and hadn't done anything impressive in years. He surrended pathetically to big brother in a way Chisora would never do. He was again overweight.

All that being said, Chisora himself might be permanently dented after the Haye demolition.

NO heavyweights are in shape anymore! When was the last time you saw a lean Frazier type in peak condition fighting at that kamikaze pace? They all have soft bodies and big bellies. Wlad and Haye at least look the part but neither man can stomach a pace.

The mind boggles at these modern mastodon heayweight 'athletes'.

How do you explain him being good enough to do it vs Vitali then? Wlad has been feasting on fat, lazy tubs of shit who won't set a pace. Dereck would make him work, and to keep his distance Wlad would need to work too. (ie, actually throw more than 15 jabs a round instead of standing there like a robot staring at his tub of shit opponent and winning by default on ring generalship).

Anyway, I doubt the fight happens, although I suppose this latest episode gives it some back story. Great shame it didn't happen when it was supposed to.

You can't use the Vitali fight to gauge how well Del will do against Wlad. Vitali is utterly finished. No power left and slow as hell these days.

I already told you. Wlad would just tie Chisora up when he got close.

X2 .... he's not the same fighter he was. I dont think he hits as hard as Wlad either. Chris Byrd who fought both of the brothers said something along the lines of "Vitali wears you down but Wladimir hits harder, there's no comparison".

I think that was Vitali mate. Vitali started off in kickboxing and then switched over to boxing. I think Wlad has always been a boxer to my knowledge.

Chisora hasn't a cat in hell's chance against Wlad. All this talk of pressure fighting, what nonsense, Chisora is slow, telegraphs his shots, and throws far too few to put Wlad under any kind of pressure. Even if he did, he would get his head jabbed off and then tied up.

This will be one sided for as long as it lasts if it happens.

Chisora is durable, that's about it, sure he showed Helenius up, but then Helenius, like most of the rest of the division, is poor.

And Robert fought with a broken hand from the second round or so,and Vitali had a knackered shoulder or something in his fight with Dereck

It's easier to see a case for Chisora when exaggerating and focusing only on aspects (e.g. qualities, performances, and opponents) that are somewhat favorable to him, while ignoring those seemingly in Wlad's favor.

It's also easier when acting as if Vitali and Wlad are the same fighter, without significant differences in speed, power, footwork, or style; then Chisora must have a great shot against Wlad, as he won a few rounds against Vitali!
What relevance are a bunch of fat old bums to Del Boy? Okay Haye bombed Chisora but styles make fights. Chisora is better than all these guys except Haye, who didn't try
Del Boy's about as fat as any of Wlad's recent opponents, and I don't think he clearly surpasses most of them in ability. Moreover, for all the criticism of Wlad's opponents, his resume is much stronger than Chisora's is, though certain posters seem to highlight flaws only in the former and act as if they strongly support a case for a Chisora win. Can you imagine what those posters would say about Wlad if his best win were over Malik Scott in a fight he was arguably losing; his second best win were arguably over against Sam Sexton; he recently lost widely to an opponent with 14 bouts whose best opponent was John McDermott; and he lost every round prior to being stopped by someone Chisora beat 11-1, 10-2, and 9-3?

I think Haye tried plenty against Wlad, but found it very difficult to land effective blows against a superior heavyweight. If you haven't noticed, Haye tends to fight economically on the back foot, so him fighting that way against Wlad doesn't mean he didn't try.

Going by forum commentary, it would seem the better a fighter gets, the less their opponents try. I suspect that's an illusory correlation stemming from the ability of one fighter impairing the other fighter, making them look poor and lacking in effort when they aren't.

Good post. Haye at heavyweight has always known that he hasn't got the duability to ship many shots, and has ALWAYS fought in a very circumspect mannet against naturally bigger, stronger men.. Against wlad, he thought he would have the edge in mobility and handspeed, and found that Wlad's precise footwork negated the former, and in fact held the edge in handspeed, due to the straightness of his shots as compared to Haye's winging punches. When that realisation dawned on him, he looked for opportunities that never came, and wanting to preserve his dignity, fought on the back foot hoping Wlad would leave an opening, and I think after 6-7 rounds resigned himself to defeat, barring an aberrant mistake by Wlad which of course never came.

Exactly. It's their job and they get paid some $$$$$$$$ for it! If I had a shot at Vitali, I'd train like a friking madman, go off nice food for a few months and fvcking throw 1000000000 punches a round. But as long as DelBoy gets paid eh

Frazier a lean physique? Are you serious? Frazier would be way to small to deal with today's monsters. It would be like Foreman fight every time.

Meanwhile Chisoral slaps up a girl, bites an ear, spits in a face, starts a brawl in the press conference after the press conference in which he slapped his opponent in the face.

May not have been 'lean' but he was incredibly fit. He throw hook after hook for 15 straight rounds. If Chisora could do that, he'd have at least half a chance
