Not really got much to say in response to that to be honest I know for a fact you have said Ronnie could beat Liam Walsh and John Simpson. If you trained Ronnie you would be saying this but because your not you don't but to be honest your opinion on that doesn't matter because again I know what you have said about the Ronnie v Roberts clash. There is one thing that makes me and you different I say the same to everyone not different to suit whatever occasion that I am in. Fact the Roberts match would end very early. Roberts is a good fighter but Ronnie is all wrong for him and that fight won't happen great management in my eyes. Walsh and Ronnie would be a cracker same as Simpson.. Ronnie could win both but proper 50/50 fights and on experience you would make both Walsh and Simpson favourites. In honesty I think Slowey would lose to Traynor but would be a good fight.. As for Brophy he would be beaten comfortably by McEwan, Carslaw and Thain. As for who Ronnie's last opponent is he has a winning record been in with a couple of very good prospects including the WBO inter continental champion!! Ronnie was the first one to stop him. He can only beat what's put in front of him!!

Ronnie v Roberts would be a very good fight but ultimately id say Ronnie would be a little too strong in a 10 rounder,i may be wrong,because as when ronnie sparred ricky he can clearly be outboxed easily and thats what Roberts would need to try and do.
Ronnie was improving the last time i seen him at my gym but the bottom line is hes still not fought a top domestic fighter yet, when and if he does thats when we will have a better idea of what he may or may not acheive.
What your forgetting Davie is Ronnie and his the manager asked me to train him for the walsh fight so he must think im a good coach,boxings all about opinions mate your are very biased towards your brother and naturally so but that dont mean there right when in fact there generally wrong

Haha Billy.. Ronnie and his manager wanted you to train him for his fight with Walsh. I think you will find it was me that pushed that to Ronnie and Tony. Billy as a trainer I think your one of the best in the business and I knew you had previous with Appleby!! In honesty after being in your gym you are one track minded on Ricky which is fair enough!! I would normally say it was a good idea to train with you but from your posts my opinion has changed. You seem to want to talk up sparring all the time and forget I was there.. Ricky has never fully outboxed Ronnie in sparring.. Ricky was getting fruistrated at how awkward Ronnie was and that's fact not because he is my brother. The fact you keep bringing that up and your defensive nature over Ricky shows a lot of insecurities. Billy there is no doubt your a great coach. But for Ricky it unfortunately hasn't been proven elsewhere as everyone tends to leave. I think smashing may well have you spot on.. 2 comments spring to mind Broner actually bottled the Burns fight and Burns has faster hands than Amir Khan but I have my Dundee glasses on . Good Ane

Yes your right I wasn't at the last sparring but the feedback from Tony and Lex was very very positive. See Ronnie is a honest guy and when I was there he was never hurt by Ricky and he has never said to me I got hurt in their sparring with Ricky.. He has as any boxers took shots that have took the wind out of him.. Prime example Tyronne Nurse. I won't got into how the sparring went but. Nurse countered one of Ronnie's attacks with a nice body shot took all the wind out of him.. Ronnie kept going!! You were there that day but although you were meant to be training Ronnie as well you were too busy talking to Ricky while you sat on the edge of the ring. Don't twist the stories in your way of happening and that I don't tell Ronnie when he had sparred badly ask him yourself.. See one thing me and Jamie are with Ronald and it's very honest. We want what's best for him so telling lies and blowing smoke up his arse helps no one. Anyway Billy your actually boring me with the lessons Ricky has dished out to Ronnie I'm sure if he knew you were saying that he wouldn't be happy with you.

I think that Billy gets more wound up by the way people try and detract from Ricky Burns being the P4P #1 fighter in Scotland. As has already been gone over on this post I believe, without Ricky Burns being a World champion, and being able to bring the big nights to the SECC, fighters in this country would find very limited opportunities to get the exposure needed to realise their full potential.

Ricky is a man who comes across as such a humble person in a sport which is infested with bulging ego's and is a breath of fresh air to hear when interviewed in comparison to other Matchroom World champions. But for some reason he always, always seems to be on the receiving end of some harsh, harsh criticism. Constantly being written off before fights. Constantly people try to attack the mans skills. It's really no wonder Billy comes out and backs his man to the hilt so aggressively sometimes when you see the absolute drivel posted about one of Scotland's sporting heroes.

There is a post going around about Gary Cornish at the moment who is a boxer in Scotland very similar to Ronnie Clark. Extensive sparring being taken, learning all the time following brief amateur careers.. But until they actually WIN a contest at British level you can't class these guys as anymore than what they are. Just making a living from boxing.

Yes I'm a very lucky guy I've been in the corner for more world titles than any other Scottish coach and let's get it right Davie Ronnie came to my gym and asked me to train him, he trained with an injured hand( he never told me he was injured) lost the title shot,signed for TG now that means I'd never train him because like Ronnie he finds the man very hard work,that's why Ronnie was (inhis words) threatened to be kept out the ring by his manager
