Any comments/criticisms of the British Top 30 P4P list are very welcome.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
yeah I've got a comment. James Degale's got more talent in his little finger than Tyson Fury, but I guess it all comes down to physicalities/ rankings at the end of the day. Is a man ranked 10 among 99 bad heavies a better boxer than a man ranked 99 amongst a thousand Super Middles? No.Horse wrote:Any comments/criticisms of the British Top 30 P4P list are very welcome.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Perhaps for me id of swapped murray and barker the other way round, and burns wouldnt quite be so high
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
P4P is based on opposition right? So surely Carl Frampton would be ahead of Brook and Groves?
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Scott Quigg is a world champion and is number 15, he needs to be brought up much higher.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Derry Matthews above Haskins for me and also macdonnell above Bellow

Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
good list
dont think Brian Rose should be in it though

I'd say Fury is more proven than DeGale. Heavyweights tend to look less talented than they are.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:yeah I've got a comment. James Degale's got more talent in his little finger than Tyson Fury, but I guess it all comes down to physicalities/ rankings at the end of the day.
I don't know.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:Is a man ranked 10 among 99 bad heavies a better boxer than a man ranked 99 amongst a thousand Super Middles? No.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
If Barker beats Sturm next month then he's likely to overtake Murray and Burns.tsunami wrote:Perhaps for me id of swapped murray and barker the other way round, and burns wouldnt quite be so high
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Frampton has two very good wins, but he has fewer good wins than Groves or Brook have.WelshJack wrote:P4P is based on opposition right? So surely Carl Frampton would be ahead of Brook and Groves?

When does D.Haye get omitted through inactivity?

Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Burns at #2 WTF?
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
He was rubbish in his last fight.brian13 wrote:Scott Quigg is a world champion and is number 15, he needs to be brought up much higher.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Mathews struggled at domestic level recently with Coyle and Crolla, but Haskins beat Hall and Ward fairly comfortably. That gives Haskins the slight edge for me.Crazyboy wrote:Derry Matthews above Haskins for me and also macdonnell above Bellow

Bellew has fought better opposition than McDonnell recently, so he gets the nod. If Stevenson smashes Bellew easily this month, then he'll probably drop below McDonnell in next month's list.
Involving the workplace in the discussion, nice.Crazyboy wrote:I do like your lists and thanks for doing it every month, always a topic of conversation where i work

Wasn't Cleverly six when he was regularly fighting cans.Horse wrote:He was rubbish in his last fight.brian13 wrote:Scott Quigg is a world champion and is number 15, he needs to be brought up much higher.

Rose is the clear No. 1 British light middleweight. I think it would be very harsh not to include him. He's struggled recently, but at least he's fighting good opponents.sweetscience wrote:dont think Brian Rose should be in it though

Probably never.milpool wrote:When does D.Haye get omitted through inactivity?
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
Correct me if I am wrong but he is not a proper world champion is he? He holds the equivalent of Povetkin's and Froch's WBA world title rather than Klit's and Ward's?brian13 wrote:Scott Quigg is a world champion and is number 15, he needs to be brought up much higher.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
He deserves 2nd position more than Haye, that's why he kept his place.Gordon KOs wrote:Burns at #2 WTF?
Barker can take the No. 2 spot if he beats Sturm.
Re: British Top 30 P4P November 2013
He earned 5th place when he was fighting good opposition and then he fell because of his poor opponents.brian13 wrote:Wasn't Cleverly six when he was regularly fighting cans.
