For me one of the best performances of recent years was that of Geraint Harvey wiping the floor with widely touted and highly skilled prospect Tony Doherty. Don't think Tony ever fought again and Geraint only had one more fight - often wondered whether he might have been frozen out.

Geraint boxed a few more times after that win which was a big win Tony has highly rated by his gym mates

I have always been impressed by Youseef Al Hamidi. Really good wee boxer. I saw him turn over Jason Hastie up here. Was a total shut out 60-54 I think it was.

Seen Al Hamidi look the part against Anthony Crolla on a Khan undercard a few years ago.

Terry Carruthers went through Trevor Crewe with ease on a Steve Wood show back in 2009. Awful snow that day but Carruthers was worth the hassle. Funnily enough, Al Hamidi fought on that bill. He lost to Stephen Jennings over 4

"Wrecking Crew" was highly touted and hlew away Geraint Harvey(think after this 1) terry was coming off a few years out if remember rightly kept stepping right and giving him angles

I saw Sam Webb get bashed up by a kid whose name I forget, but was from Wisbech. Been DQ'd a couple times I think. Webb had only had 5 fights himself mind you. Fans and banners everywhere. They wouldn't have been happy.

Ali Nuumbembe taking the C'wealth of Kevin Anderson. I beat the bookies that day, but you couldn't really call Ali a journeyman by any stretch. Unknown, yes, journeyman, no.

I know I pushed the boundary a little; Barkley had lost a handful and was not considered in Hearns' class, Cruz worked full time as a plumbers mate and trained after work and was seen as a very soft opponent, Thaxton had lost before and had no amateur boxing experience behind him and was boxing away from home v Hollington who had been a Repton amateur and was a big hitter, v Ryan he'd been bashed up by Colin Dunne previously and was moving up a division v a very big hitter and fast starter in Ryan; Taylor would box anyone and lost many, many fights on points and his draw v Ayres and the win v Thobela are brilliant results.

I do appreciate how Cruz, Thaxton and Barkley could be viewed as not being journeymen though

Slighly off the mark here, but I have seen so many Jorneyman (Laight, Allen, Razak) lose that Carl Allen winning at Bowlers the other week was a strange one although he deserved it.

Neil Swain was beating Paul Ingle up until he got hit with a very low blow, that was a bad decision.

Bernard Paul hadn't done great and had a spotty record when he knocked Jason Rowland out in 1 round.

Alex Spitko knocked out Willie Bilan in a couple of rounds - Bilan had never been hit that hard before - it was man v boy, I felt sorry for Willie.

Err, the Keeton result was of a (allegedly) highly dodgy nature.

It didn't look dodgy to me, Dean got clumped by a very heavy handed boxer in Buster; he was out of it, not play acting and Keeton went for it like his life depended on it.
