I have a feeling it was because Price was getting beaten up in sparring or atleast showing signs that Booth wasnt sure he could fix. Not expecting you to clarify that though Spud

Lets try and set out the broad possibilities.

I) Price was not happy with something.
II) Booth was not happy with something.
III) Sauerland advised Price against the linkup.

I think that's everything and I personally would be surprised if it was III as I think if both Booth and Price were happy with everything the likelihood of Kalle rocking up and advising on training matters when he is the promoter.....well I just don't see it.

Johnny Nelson hit the road didn't he and look where he ended up. Maybe Price should do the same, I don't know his set up but I'm just saying. You've got to be prepared to move to improve these days - and that goes for anything not just boxing.

edit - Johnny was just an idea who sprang to mind, I'm sure there's a ton of examples.

Johnny Nelson hit the road didn't he and look where he ended up. Maybe Price should do the same, I don't know his set up but I'm just saying. You've got to be prepared to move to improve these days - and that goes for anything not just boxing.

Johnny was always based in Sheffield. He went on trips as a paid sparring partner and boxed abroad, but that's it. Paul Ingle is one who couldn't handle training away. Even with his own team. They tried it once and had to bring him home.

I'd be looking to get Price a top sports phycologist as well, the 2nd Thompson fight he seemed to fall apart mentally after the 3rd. He ended the fight with his back to the opponent, which is never a good sign.

Amir Khan going to the Wildcard seemed to help his game; Andries going to the Kronk undoubtedly helped his. I'm also pretty sure a number of boxers like Benn used to benefit from going to Tenerife to train and thus being removed from the 'distractions' of home.
On the flip-side, Frankie Gavin is a good example of a fighter who clearly needs 'home comforts'.
I don't think there's a definitive answer as each individual will have different responses.

Personally I think adam booth is perceived as an agent & will guide & cut out promoters were he can,being abit to cute at times & anyone investing into a fighter / product doesn't really want booth there because when the fight fighter comes into fruition booth the old Turkish cyp turns them over good & proper!!! price picking tyson's ex trainer - why? - price is not tyson, and won't become a tyson - end of.

price prior to fighting thompson looked fairly decent domestically.. - needs to be rebuild and work on his cardio
and defence - why not fight sprott??

price is much better than towers.

however much i like ingle fighters, i think towers is not going to do anything - hope he proves me wrong -
again like price in both of his last 2 fights his cardio was very bad and we are talking only rounds 3-6 - moving
up commonwealth/european and then onto world level you need supreme fitness.

on a side note i am suprised no one has hired evander holyfields ex coaches - Tim Hallmark strength and conditioning and his trainer.

Evander holyfield had massive heart and granite chin (you can't buy/train this I know !), good defense, very strong and never gassed and fought intelligent fights imo...

Interesting to hear you say Towers held his own in sparring spud. I was always thinking he would be the weak link in that camp when I saw who David had lined up.

You say Towers held his own but from a fans point of view he has never really demonstrated that in a ring.

Can you not elaborate on the Price/Booth split then or will that affect your relationship with the dark lord if you were to say?
