Nelson vs Petkovic. My T Sharp wrote:Freiheit wrote:No that was Axel ZielkeMy T Sharp wrote:Jacobsen is the judge Sports Network have complained about in the past, I think it would have been in a Harrison or Calzaghe fight.I'm sure there are some good German judges out there. Was it a Harrison fight? I can't remember.
He was also surposed to be a judge for Calzaghe vs Veit 2 but Warren didnt want that, got Jacobsen instead (I think).
Warren had no problem with Zielke judging a Arthur fight for the EU belt.

Enzo Maccarinellis appearence was a complete waste of time. Apart from the Welsh fighter getting a payday what really was the point of that embarresing sham?
I understand with a potential big fight against Nelson on the horizon they didn't what to take any risks but this was pathetic.
Ok it wasn't me taking those shots but his opponent who had lost to every fighter with a pulse he had ever fought, was in poor condition and seemed to have no interest in winning or even going the distance.
How was that fight in any way going to prepare Maccarinelli to tackle a tricky, experienced fighter like Johnny Nelson? It seems like we are watching the early career of Ryan Rhodes all over again.

Yeah Enzo's fight was a joke, no point him turning up. As for the main event, i thought Nelson won easily, Cantatore was dire! He just plodded forward like Petkovic when Nelson fought him and every time he raised his glove in anger the crowd went wild, obviously that was enough for Mr. Jacobsen to score the fight to the Italian...disgraceful scoring.
The knockdown was dodgy, Nelson threw a shot and lost his balance and Cantatore whacked him on the arm and knocked him down. The left hook registered alright though at the end, Nelson was in trouble.
I don't really like ITV that much though for some reason, they always seem to be catering for the casual fan while SKY seem to be more geared towards the enthusiast. Comments by John Rawling like "Nelson has been world champion for 6 years now, how much longer can he rule the Cruiserweight division?" are misleading.

I know what you are saying but Sky have been catering for the hardcore fan for the last ten years and what happened? Boxing became all but forgotten by the average Joe punblic.steve689 wrote:I don't really like ITV that much though for some reason, they always seem to be catering for the casual fan while SKY seem to be more geared towards the enthusiast.

What are they supposed to say - "We can't afford to show you world champions but Nelsons been a top5 Cruserweight for 6years with a tin pot title that he really should of lost against the blow up pansy punching welterweight Guilermore Jones because he was old and didn't want his nap disturbing by something silly like a fight" - yea that'll have them tuning in.steve689 wrote: I don't really like ITV that much though for some reason, they always seem to be catering for the casual fan while SKY seem to be more geared towards the enthusiast. Nelson looked sharper than I've seen him in the past (or it could be his opponent didnt do much early). Had him reeling late. He did actually live upto his name as the entertainer tonight.
Ha Ha that made me laugh, it's a fair point but the way ITV put it across was like Nelson had been tucking away all available challengers while defending his belt and ruling the division with an iron fist.
It was the same as the Calzaghe nonsense a few weeks back, all about him being underrated and not getting his dues etc it was a load of bullshit. He is getting all the recognition he deserves for fighting Salem, Mkrtchian, Veit and Ashira...nuff said

It was quite sickening.
