Yeah he's only arguably the most (naturally) talented pro boxer the UK's ever had. Of course his opinion means less than the average forum mongoloid!

You said his opinion became void after his weight gain, does that mean he had a better opinion when he was fit?
What I was getting at is I dont think he's really in a position to tell Carl that he should retire. Carl is a guy that by all accounts lives the life whereas it doesnt really seem like Naz did. Also it seems like a typical knee jerk reaction *normally from an armchair fan* to say a fighter should retire because he had a lot of trouble with a fresh 25 yr old with speed and power. Naz should know better.
Fair enough mate, i don't agree with what Hamed was saying btw, i just wondered about your reasoning behind why his opinion wasn't valid is all.

I thought Hamed was brutally honest & gave a great interview.

Credit to him for not toeing the party line & telling it how he sees it.

Froch is definitely on the wane: how shot he is is open to interpretation, but he definitely needs to think about hanging up his gloves in the near future.

I've also warmed to Hamed in respect of his own retirement.

I've always accused him of lacking hunger & believing his own hype when he retired at 28 with so much more to give, but having explained his rationale for quitting, I have new found respect for his decision to quit so young.

I love how noobs like columbo can dismiss the opinion of a former undisputed world champion like it’s nothing but wouldn’t know the inside of a boxing gym if it smacked them in the face.

I’m not saying all boxers opinion is more valid than fans; in fact boxers tend to be terrible at predictions.

But to dismiss a man’s opinion who has been around fighters and boxing gyms extensively for over thirty years so nonchalantly is.... noobtastic behaviour.

Respect to hameds honesty & he did it with no arrogance & was sincere.groves done great to take carl on who had just convincingly beat Kessler!!!
It makes me laugh when I read froch is slow not a good boxer etc. the man was a world amateur medalist & didn't ko everyone to get there!!!
He's 36 & reflexes & timing slow down & as allway's said speed is a killer

He already takes ridiculously long breaks as it is, 34 fights in 12 years and 14 in the last 7 years isn't really fighting regularly.

Hamed at least made a bit of sense in this recent interview, unlike the coked up rant he gave at ringside on fight night!

Carl will pay no heed to the advice but there must be some consideration from his family/team regarding how much more punishment he should take in the pursuit of money.

I have seen Froch box much better than he did v Groves, he took a lot of hammer and when he did fire back he did not seem to be like he was a couple of years ago; that may be down to the camp, it may be down to the punches he had taken early on or it may be that he peaked a while ago and is gone; 'shot' is a very harsh term. I think Groves will really do him in next time - if he'd have gone for him full on in the 2nd round last time he'd have bust him up.

It was a fairly decent interview. He didnt just come out and say 'Froch is shot', he explained that Froch has been great for British Boxing, that he was a fan of his etc but he thinks that night against Groves he looked a shot fighter. I think he looked as bad as I have ever seen him, and that's taking in to account how well George fought too. Having seen George plenty of times before, I don't think it was his sheer brilliance that made Froch look off his game. Maybe a mixture of both.

I wouldn't go as far to say Froch looked shot, but he looked like he was a man approaching the end of his career for sure.

If he retired then fair play to him. I doubt very much that he will though.

maybe but Groves was exhausted. If he went for him and couldn't stop him, things swing into Froch's favour. Sure Froch is knackered also, but he sucks it up. Really great athlete. I might be wrong here, but I think how experienced you are at that level effects the way your body deals with adrenaline. Adrenaline can tire you out more quickly if you're not as experienced at channelling it. Be interested to hear some views on that.

What let the interview down is when his defet is brought up and the excuses start rolling out. Also found it telling that he claims Kelley was the best opponent he ever faced.

Guess its the old ego kicking in!

The fat prince also predicted Froch to KO Groves in four or something. (On the telecast, just before the main event)

I don't think Hamed's opinions hold much weight, but it seems like he feels Groves is not very good at all.

Froch has got a massive heart, great chin, stamina etc - jermain taylor fight- enough said - 12th round pulled it out the bag.

Froch - he was losing, and then boom he pulled it out of the bag - you can't buy knockout power - u either have it or not, likewise a granite chin too.

However.... I think Froch has had a lot of hard fights (been in too many wars) and I think Groves will win the next fight.

I also think Froch will definately lose to Andre Ward if they rematched , and Ward would beat Groves easily - but GGG would
beat Ward imo...

Now if Hamed had stayed with Ingle for the Barrera fight that's another story... if it aint broke...

I thought Groves would outbox Froch and win on points, but never thought he would floor Froch in the first round, thought he would fight the same as he did with Degale, but I think it went to his head and he started trading, which eventually brought froch back in the fight and took a lot out of Groves, It is too early to say if Froch is shot, the same happened to him against Taylor in the US, he got out boxed, out fought, dropped, but came back to win, yes it was an early stoppage, but Froch was getting to Groves, no he is not shot just yet.

His opinions may not, but the rest of him certainly holds plenty of weight..
