That's a really good match up. I don't believe it will happen but I hope it does
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
Just what Bradley needs, a good step up but it will be hard to look good against Mcclosky he's so awkward. Cant wait for this one.

Brad will win this. He's a top domestic fighter already, just hasn't had enough fights to prove it.
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
Saunders wins quite easy for me.

I hope to see more of this sort of match making. Frankie Gavin is moving so slowly I'm amazed they didn't offer McCloskey to him instead.
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
He's already got the Lonsdale belt outright and McCloskey doesn't have any world rankings, definitely not with the WBO, so the fight wouldn't really get him anywhere and it could be a bit boring, I don't think the styles would come together well.JimJim2009 wrote:Agreed.mickey1975 wrote:Brad will win this. Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
Think Paul s nearly at the end of a fine career brad will hit to hard for him and feel a stoppage is on the cards
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
I hope it is last on the bill then McClosky can ensure everyone gets a good nights sleep
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
I think Saunders stops McCloskey.
Amazing to think only recently he was being linked with Juan Manuel Marquez wasn't it ?

Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
There was a lot of hype around Mccloskey for a while. He floored a guy who wasnt looking and then took a pasting from Prescott but was gifted a decision.
Has he actually beaten a genuinely dangerous fighter yet?

Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
Took a pasting from Prescott and got a gift decision...are you pissed? I was ringside for that one and it was a close, close fight. He got his nose busted in the sixth and showed tremendous courage and bravery to push Prescott back. He was never a come forward fighter either so that was even more impressive.
The problem with that fight was that it was effectively McCloskey's world title fight, only without the belt to show for it. He put his heart and soul into winning that and was spent and demotivated when he lost to Corley a few months' later.

I was being a bit sarcastic there Expe. This is great match-making for Saunders, so credit where its due, but Gavin's opposition has been disappointing and some of the poor choice opponents have brought out the worst in Frankie, rather than the best. For the life of me I don't understand why they don't bring over some Mexicans or South Americans, it would make for more exciting fights and would showcase Frankie's skills properly.expe wrote:He's already got the Lonsdale belt outright and McCloskey doesn't have any world rankings, definitely not with the WBO, so the fight wouldn't really get him anywhere and it could be a bit boring, I don't think the styles would come together well.JimJim2009 wrote:Agreed.mickey1975 wrote:Brad will win this. This is great match making for Saunders. At the rate they're going with Frankie he'll soon be fighting Peter McDonagh again.
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
One fight I'd of loved to watch all northeast derby Glenn foot and brad get it on but won't happen now
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
He'd look brilliant against the South Americans, come forward fighters are perfect for Frankie, make them miss, then pick them off all night.JimJim2009 wrote:I was being a bit sarcastic there Expe. Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
Winner pushing for the British title perhaps, Saunders the guy coming up withMcCloskey looking to rebuild after an eight round upset loss knows that if he loses to Saunders he will be pretty done for at British level. Definitely a tough pick but the younger and fresher Saunders takes this, but it won't be easy.

Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
When I saw there was a new message on this thread I knew 100% this was what it was, typical, I guess we should have known better.... What now for Saunders? An eastern European?mickey1975 wrote:Mcloskey has pulled out.
Re: Bradley Saunders v Paul Mcclosky
you forgot to add eastern european 'BUM'.. or 'journeyman' ..... that hasnt fought for long who is paid to get beat updigzee wrote:What now for Saunders? An eastern European?mickey1975 wrote:Mcloskey has pulled out.
seeing as though russia and ukraine are probably the best nations in boxing right now for producing talent, eastern europe has many brilliant boxers
to just say 'eastern euro' is disrespectful and incorrect in the way you are using it
you should really say ' afrobum' seeing as though the whole continent of africa is hilariously embarassingly awful at boxing
