Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Massive news according to David Price, any ideas?
Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Bit disappointing if it's Smith Vs Abraham few people on twitter saying they've signed Groves but Would of thought he would be waiting until after Froch fight before making any decision

Could it be Kessler v Abraham?cocobongo wrote:Bit disappointing if it's Smith Vs Abraham few people on twitter saying they've signed Groves but Would of thought he would be waiting until after Froch fight before making any decision
Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
If Price is saying it's huge news then i'm guessing it's the Smith-Abraham fight to be honest.

A Sauerland bill in Liverpool.
Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
That sounds like it could be bang on the money. Perhaps with Smith-Abraham on the bill. Im sure Abraham will be happy to fight in liverpoolkeithmoonhangover wrote:A Sauerland bill in Liverpool.

Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
My immediate thought is I can't believe that. Thinking about it more tho there will probably be very good money in a Groves v Abraham fight, and that is whether Groves wins or not. If he wins then obviously that fight happens almost straight away. If he doesn't then he has a comeback fight in Germany against Mehdi Bouadla or the like, and a fight for plenty of Euros is made with Abraham.keithmoonhangover wrote:Not a chance IMHO.pyenest77 wrote:According to Boxing Scene it is the signing of Groves.
Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Why's it a big story?
Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Yeah i'd imagine it would be a short term deal. George only seems to work on short term deals as it is which is shrewd on his behalf.jameswilson wrote:My immediate thought is I can't believe that. Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Almost a cert. On the 25th April I sent the Sauerlands a Tweet asking if Pricey would fight in Liverpool this year and who would fight on the undercard. They Tweeted back saying:keithmoonhangover wrote:A Sauerland bill in Liverpool.
"Would be a mix of UK and international names."
Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Paul Smith retweeted the Sauerland announcement of the announcement, so I assumed it was about Smith v Abraham.

The best deal. Abraham and Kessler on the books... Eddie has made it clear his loyalties are with Froch and I doubt Fwank can match Sauerlands offer.DMA1987 wrote:For the life of me I can't imagine Groves would sign with Sauerland.

If Groves beats Froch then he pretty much walks into the Ward fight if he wants it.mickey1975 wrote:The best deal. Abraham and Kessler on the books... He probably doesn't want, and if he does, he can walk in with strong backing.DMA1987 wrote:If Groves beats Froch then he pretty much walks into the Ward fight if he wants it.mickey1975 wrote:The best deal. Stronger than Matchroom?
I dont know if the public will be over enamoured to see him vs either Abraham or Kessler. If Froch can outbox Abraham, then Groves would walk it. And the Kessler fight would be a watered down version of Froch v Groves.

Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
I think you just answered your own statement in a way there. I dont think he does fancy the Ward challenge. Signs with sauerland and he can make big money fighting the likes of Abraham and Kessler who are both pretty shot and who are far easier opponents than Ward.DMA1987 wrote:If Groves beats Froch then he pretty much walks into the Ward fight if he wants it.mickey1975 wrote:The best deal. I dont know if having matchroom as his promoter would make much difference in him getting the ward fight.DMA1987 wrote:Stronger than Matchroom?

Re: Sauerland Announcement tomorrow
Actually just noticed that at roughly 2pm today the Sauerlands Tweeted:
"On the signings front....we are just getting warmed up. This is gonna be a BIG week"
Even if it's not Groves, the Sauerlands definitely have a major signing up their sleeve.

But it would the Degale fight, which could earn him more than either of the 2 Sauerland lads.columbo wrote:I dont know if having matchroom as his promoter would make much difference in him getting the ward fight.DMA1987 wrote:Stronger than Matchroom?
