Bit disappointing if it's Smith Vs Abraham few people on twitter saying they've signed Groves but Would of thought he would be waiting until after Froch fight before making any decision

Could it be Kessler v Abraham?

If Price is saying it's huge news then i'm guessing it's the Smith-Abraham fight to be honest.

According to Boxing Scene it is the signing of Groves.

My immediate thought is I can't believe that. Thinking about it more tho there will probably be very good money in a Groves v Abraham fight, and that is whether Groves wins or not. If he wins then obviously that fight happens almost straight away. If he doesn't then he has a comeback fight in Germany against Mehdi Bouadla or the like, and a fight for plenty of Euros is made with Abraham.

Yeah i'd imagine it would be a short term deal. George only seems to work on short term deals as it is which is shrewd on his behalf.

Almost a cert. On the 25th April I sent the Sauerlands a Tweet asking if Pricey would fight in Liverpool this year and who would fight on the undercard. They Tweeted back saying:

"Would be a mix of UK and international names."

Paul Smith retweeted the Sauerland announcement of the announcement, so I assumed it was about Smith v Abraham.

For the life of me I can't imagine Groves would sign with Sauerland.

The best deal. Abraham and Kessler on the books... Eddie has made it clear his loyalties are with Froch and I doubt Fwank can match Sauerlands offer.

If Groves beats Froch then he pretty much walks into the Ward fight if he wants it.

He probably doesn't want, and if he does, he can walk in with strong backing.

Stronger than Matchroom?

I dont know if the public will be over enamoured to see him vs either Abraham or Kessler. If Froch can outbox Abraham, then Groves would walk it. And the Kessler fight would be a watered down version of Froch v Groves.

I think you just answered your own statement in a way there. I dont think he does fancy the Ward challenge. Signs with sauerland and he can make big money fighting the likes of Abraham and Kessler who are both pretty shot and who are far easier opponents than Ward.

I dont know if having matchroom as his promoter would make much difference in him getting the ward fight.

Actually just noticed that at roughly 2pm today the Sauerlands Tweeted:

"On the signings front....we are just getting warmed up. This is gonna be a BIG week"

Even if it's not Groves, the Sauerlands definitely have a major signing up their sleeve.

But it would the Degale fight, which could earn him more than either of the 2 Sauerland lads.
