RUIZ v THE BEAST FROM THE EAST

Post by MightyWarrior »

I think Ruiz might knock out the giant late. Bookies have Valuev favorite though, as you never know with Ruiz...

Been attracting some mix views on another forum where I post. Incidently, where did you get those odds from. The guys on the other forum cannot find any.

I like Ruiz late aswell, first 3 rounds are crucial, if Valuev can strike a rhythmn early and win these rounds - he could win the fight on points. I think Ruiz has got to get something on him in these rounds.

Any chance of it being on the box anywhere?

Live on ARD Sat night.

Odds are over at Betfair.com - Ruiz is 10/11, Valuev is 10/17

Why? If Valuev wins the belts will not get unified as the Germans will keep the title hostage over there. If Ruiz wins then the heavyweight tournament can go ahead and eventually a unified champ.

How is that?
Rahman is with Arum now and Byrd and King is "breaking" up as well.

My mistake I thought King had them all. I'd still rather Ruiz champ than Valuev, and I think he will beat him.

In todays heavyweight climate an undisputed champion is hardly likely to remain that way for long. And what with all the unrealistic mandatory requirements it would hardly seem worth unifying all the titles in the first place.

Valuev throws fairly loose, snappy punches for such a big guy. I hope he can do it, I never enjoy seeing a gentle monster brought to his knees. Oh and I've never liked Ruiz...

Yeah I'd like to see the big man do it - can't help feeling sorry for the guy with the sideshow freak jokes, hope he does it and wont be surprised if he beats Ruiz at all - after all, if you need a heavyweight belt, John is yer man!

Yeah - the thing is with betfair is that the odds get a lot better nearer the fight (because it is punters who control the odds, not bookies.)

So these odds are prob not indicative. Wait til on eof the traditional bookies put the odds up or nearer the event on betfair.

Anyway I see Valuev winning on points in a none too thrilling typical Ruiz affair.

I fancy Valuev to stop Ruiz...early.

Ruiz likes to hold and smother and spoil, how will he do that to the `Beast from the east`

Ruiz won`t be strong enough to get away with his usual tactics, and then we really will have the WORST ever champion

I can imagine that Ruiz wont get away with his spoiling tactics in a German ring and that the ref will be onto John early

Ruiz wont need to hold and smother, even he is faster than that big lump.

Valuev isn't a huge puncher though.

Hoping to catch this fight on a live stream or download it the next day... Eurosport usually shows Valuev fights a few weeks after the bout

Hard to say, rioz seems most affective when he bear hugs fighters to death, i dont think he can with valaev. i think valeav will win on points.

Valuev cannot box

Post by Boxing Addict »

This valuev is awful, cannot box or punch, really big though, but nothing else. Ruiz should win, but cannot do it with his usual style, hugging and stuff.
