Plenty of sense in what you are saying, crusader wrote:I have a hard time seeing Rose winning.
He's unlikely to score a stoppage due to his lack of power and I think Andrade's a bad opponent for him stylistically. Rose's best wins were over Maciel and Arron, and both of them were rather slow, clumsy, and defensively flawed. I think those are the type of weaknesses that Rose's neat boxing exploits particularly well, but he won't find them against Andrade; he'll find someone who is probably a bit faster, punches harder, can box from the outside or fight skillfully inside, has a decent workrate, and seemingly good stamina. Because of this and possibly the fact that he's the away fighter, I think Rose will have to fight nearly perfect fight to win while Andrade won't require such a performance to retain his title.
Brians win over Arron was technically brilliant and game plan executed to perfection. Agreed Maciel win wasn't as clear cut ut he dug out a win against a very tough durable fighter proven at world level. If Brian stands in front of him with his guard up taking punches he will probably get stopped late on. Brian will have a game plan to try to take Andrade out of his comfort zone early on. They both have a similar amateur pedigree and Brian is proven at championship level more than Andrade. Think Brian has done the 12 rounds 6 times to Andrades once. If he lets Andrade dictate the fight he will lose, If he puts it on him in bursts, eye catching stiff jabs and 3/4 punch combos, on the front foot at times back Andrade up when possible I think he has a chance of nicking it on points.
Andrade has tendancies to smother his work by jumping in. If Brian can stay on the outside and counter him with combos keeping him at range and using his cute skills for 12 rounds he can win this fight on points.
You will see the best Brian on Saturday, he will have no excuses if he is beat. I am biased but i genuinely do believe he can in. he is technically very good and I always said he will be a fight for anybody in the division who wants to stand and try to outbox him.
He is totally up against it but I believe in him and his ability and so do the 500 strong army heading over to NYC this weekend.
More Rose fans than Andrade fans probably in the Barclays Center.
Id be going myself but my wife gave birth last week. Team Rose. andtheNEWWWWW
