calzaghes jealousy is out of control
Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
I think the jealousy of some people on here towards Calzaghe is out of control
Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
Froch deserves ultimate respect, he has shot for glory throught his career and ducked no one. He has fought at the elite level for years, back to back fights against the best the sport has to offer. Anybody anywhere anytime - have we ever seen the likes before from a British fighter? He has blazed a trail that all upcoming British fighters should be trying to emulate.
Froch righted Calzaghes wrongs. Calzaghe and Fwank created an era of ducking and dodging that still makes me cringe to this day. For such a talented fighter Calzaghes career was a bit of a joke. Who cares if he beat an old Hopkins and a shot to pieces Jones. Had he fought them in their prime he would have lost to both - no doubt about it.
Other than Kessler who else is on his record that stands it up against Froch's?

Is this a joke? I feel like I'm posting the same list of names over and over again, but here goes, hopefully for the final time, Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy and Bika, to go with Kessler and the 'old' Hopkins, who's still world champion 6 years later.ALI wrote:Froch deserves ultimate respect, he has shot for glory throught his career and ducked no one. Not old enough to have seen, but he is right though, Calzaghe has fought and beat lot of champions, Bika and Hopkins are World champions, now ! Kessler is still world class, now !G0mez wrote:How old are you Expe ?expe wrote: Is this a joke? Bit of an exaggerated topic title, this one. It would be appropriate if Joe got caught pissed up outside Carl's house, throwing bricks through his windows, taking a dump on his lawn, and screaming out that Carl has ruined Joe's legacy. That would be out of control

I'm sorry, are you grooming Expe ? How would you know how old he is.
I recall him saying he was 17 , so he might not have even been born when Joe fought a stand-in Eubank who was contesting the 50th fight of a 52 fight career on the undercard of an undercard in Sheffield.
It was a bout to pad out the show, not a headliner of any sort against a badly faded Eubank at the tail end of his career.
Now it's been elevated into an epic win. The trend is happening with Roy Jones too. He's not a shot fighter, but an all-time American great.
The reality is all of this debate has only touched on whom he actually fought.
The topic could span another twenty pages as to whom he DIDNT fight.

Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
Froch himself admitted he would not have beaten JC on points so he would have had to stop him . Calzaghe on points for me
Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
when Calzaghe boxed you knew you were watching one of the all time greats. The end.

Hardly! Like I said he effectively never avoided anyone at supermiddle. And he battled through long periods of chronic hand injuries without having to retire prematurely.ALI wrote:I always thought i was watching wasted talent.dragons wrote:X 2n1ebf wrote:when Calzaghe boxed you knew you were watching one of the all time greats. Get your head out the cornflakes. Who gives a monkeys as to why certain fights never happened, thats all done and dusted now, all that remains is the knowlege that he could have done so much more with his career.

That article is from 2003 but interesting comment by Calzaghe about Roy JonesG0mez wrote:Joe says he's better than Lennox Lewisbigjack wrote:enough is enough, please move on,how about this, who'd win between a peak Tyson and a peak Lewis lol

"I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels I wouldn't want to risk it."
Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
It's practically impossible not to be a Carl Froch fan. Look at the action he's given us over the past few years. He is so good for boxing. Calzaghe beats him though, Joe was quicker and more versatile. It's a shame the fight didn't happen when Carl was calling him out, it would have been a good one, ending up (in my opinion) with Joe taking it on points.
Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
Clearly ducking Ward? It's not his fault if the fight's worth f**k all compared to others.mickey1975 wrote:Despite the fact Froch clearly is ducking Ward?
Ward should show a bit of willingness to prove he can fight away from home, like proper champions do. It would surely be a career best earn for him, and a chance to box in front of a lot more people than their first meeting, which was a poxy, boring fight and a complete anti-climax to an otherwise fairly exciting tournament.
Ward is good at winning fights, but just like Hopkins and the Younger Klit, he's fking boring.
I'd like to see Groves v DeGale support Froch v Ward at Wembley. Hearn could sell that easy - he could sell dogshite to a dog.

Look, I gave up criticising Froch a couple of weeks ago... The truth is though, he doesn't want to avenge the Ward defeat. You're right though, who would?

Can't see how Ward is a less valuable fight that Chavez, particularly Chavez after his last two fights. The difference is that it's less winnable.
Re: calzaghes jealousy is out of control
Bums on seats, Chavez brings untold Mexicans to the party, Ward will struggle to bring his mum and dad!
