Im sure it'll consist of lots of hugging and not very much actual fighting etc... but could be interesting all the same.
I will.
The fights is also being shown on a norwegian channel that I can see, so Ill use that one instead of ARD.
I will also make a little change in my scoring system, since there probably will he alot of hugging ect it could be a lot of close rounds. So Ill also keep a total score of close rounds that could go either way since I dont like having 10-10 rounds. So a total could be 115-113 Valuev with both winning 2 clearly and then 8 very close rounds, so the total score could be from 118-110 Valuev to 118-110 Ruiz.
It could really turn out to be one of the most boring fights in history and very little that determins who wins rounds. Did all that make sence
NB: If its a huge hug fest I might even try to count the hugs in each round.

I'm hoping Valuev starts just as the Barcelona game ends. That would be convienient.
Close rounds with lots of mauling/pawing of jabs do my swede in. For example, last week I had Harrison just nicking it on the basis of his work being marginally cleaner in the first 8 or so rounds when Williams mauled and Harrison pawed. I see Boxing News subscribed (and I guess the judge who scored for Harrison) to a similar theory. Do judges have some sort of guidelines they have to follow in these sort of situations?
Anyway, I'm curious how this fight will work out (I like Valuev on points or late stoppage), so I'll watch it.

Hmm what does that come down to in US currency? Or am I even eligible? Although I have very much appreciated the round by round updates here in the past. So this works for me fairly well. Oh and would the commentary be in German? I'm guessing it would, not that I need commentary to see what is going on.

I'll be taping German ARD TV John, used to be on old Astra analogue system, but is now on hotbird digital satellite - free to air. Just need a box and a dish pointing a little right of Sky satellite.KO Atrist wrote:How do you receive the Norwegian channel, Rob?MightyWarrior wrote:I'm out tonight so will tape it & watch later.
German show starts at 9.30 UK time, but they usualy have a 1/2 hour buildup ( highlights of Ruiz in some great clinches I assume )
Think Valuev might get home on points with the jab...hard to say though.
Check Ant Evans preview over at secondsout - sounds like he had his sun bed nicked - reckons the fix could be in 8) 8)

"Funny things happen in Germany under these sort of circumstances and with no US or international TV and Ruiz's lack of respect within the sport, well, the Germans have been handled a charter to cheat."MightyWarrior wrote:www.secondsout.com/USA/news.cfm?ccs=229&cs=18209
