Re: British Top 30 P4P September 2014
Murray lost a questionable decision to Martinez and was elevated several places.

His matchmaking has been Brookesque. Awful stuff. Paper champion.Loftgroov wrote:Say what you like about his match-making, but Scott Quigg is undefeated and holder of the WBA world super bantamweight title.
Too high?Loftgroov wrote:....and that sees him placed 12th on the British P4P rankings?

Indeed.black panther wrote:I'd say this is justified based on the respective performances of Cleverly and Groves. Yes Groves was ko'ed twice by Froch but he was highly competitive in both bouts whereas Cleverly was blown away.

OK; some people thought that Frankie deserved the win v Bundu who is a very good fighter; shouldn't Frankie have held his spot?Horse wrote:The win.palooka wrote:The loss to Martinez?
Re: British Top 30 P4P September 2014
Martinez is a lot better than Bundu. It's not really the same situation.palooka wrote:OK; some people thought that Frankie deserved the win v Bundu who is a very good fighter; shouldn't Frankie have held his spot?
Re: British Top 30 P4P September 2014
Why should holding a title mean anything rather than purely going on who someone fought and how they performed?Loftgroov wrote:Say what you like about his match-making, but Scott Quigg is undefeated and holder of the WBA world super bantamweight title.

Is a win over a certain boxer more impressive if it was for a trinket instead of being non-title bout that is otherwise the same?

Sergio was better than Bundu, way before the Murray fight though.Horse wrote:Martinez is a lot better than Bundu. It's not really the same situation.palooka wrote:OK; some people thought that Frankie deserved the win v Bundu who is a very good fighter; shouldn't Frankie have held his spot?

No, he was better in the Murray fight as well.palooka wrote:Sergio was better than Bundu, way before the Murray fight though.
Bundu is a solid fringe world level fighter. Martinez was a top 10 P4P fighter.

Quigg isn't holder of the WBA belt though - not the proper one anyway. He's a long way from a genuine world title, I'd say his ranking is fair considering who he's beaten.Loftgroov wrote:Say what you like about his match-making, but Scott Quigg is undefeated and holder of the WBA world super bantamweight title.
