Why? Only man in the world who can trouble the JNR Machine is Andre Ward

On a serious note I think he looks a bit special but we'll find how good he really is in this fight that's for sure.

What with Peter Quillin vacating the WBO Middleweight title, and BJS being ranked No.2 and Eubank No.15 within the WBO, I wonder if they will make this fight for the vacant WBO title...

Maybe this is why both fighters are taking the fight, they (and Fwank) know something we dont... It would seem far more likely for this fight to go ahead if it was for the vacant WBO title.

It’s unclear if Eubank has real power yet and is notably heavy-handed or not.

Take his last fight. It seemed fairly impressive and destructive, unleashing bomb after bomb (on a journeyman) to finish things. But that said, the journeyman still got back up after that first battering. Eubank had to come in again to properly finish it.

Plenty to ponder, but I suspect Eubank ultimately has more to offer than Saunders.

If we do actually see this fight happen, and we see Eubank step into the ring, then in my opinion he’ll be winning the fight. Eubank Snr has a lot invested here and I can’t see Jnr being lobbed into any sort of “gamble” at this stage in his career.

They will know (or think they know) that Eubank will do a job on Saunders.

I'm mainly surprised because I thought the general view of his abilities was significantly less favorable than Saunder's, partially due to a dislike of him and because he's significantly less proven, which is arguably the main factor used in predicting fights. I can also see why people are choosing him, as he appears to be athletic with a mix of speed and power that is arguably superior to BJS's, although nearly all of his 'wow' performances have been against mediocre opponents with a tendency to be stopped.

Oh yeah! It's his first real test.

For me, it's a more interesting fight than the Fury vs Chisora rematch.

I read Fwank's trying to get this doubled up as a WBO eliminator, bizarre if Eubank gets sanctioned a title eliminator despite having not fought anyone of note yet

That's just how the sport is now, isn't it? Everything is a title eliminator these days.

You really think so? I don't think he is close tbh.

I'd favour Ryder in a rematch, and he isn't nearly world level.

I can also see Eubank Jr more than holding his own in this fight.
Fair enough. I think BJS under rated Ryder who I think is a quality pro, and I have to say I am genuinely surprised so many people picking Eubank to win. I was looking at the British Middleweight ratings the other day and thought it made for depressing reading, with so little depth but it is such a big jump from where Eubank is to British title level.

I would have been surprised if Eubank had put in for an eliminator at this stage-maybe area title-but this is a jump too far imo.

The reason I'm picking eubank is because I think he has the edge mentally. Hats off to both taking this fight so early in their careers.

I think this fight would bring about a new level of performance from Eubank. I see him winning this, even though I do like Billy Joe.

Hearing SKY Sports are having another open day in November as they did recently for Brook:

It's going to be a Saturday towards the end of the month. No date confirmed yet however I have a sneaky suspicion it will be on the same day as Bellew Vs. Cleverly II. As soon as I hear more, I'll let you know.

I think that Saunders wins this fairly handily. Will be close first quarter then Eubank Jnr spunks his nuts & the more experienced fighter takes over.

Benn (my hero, my West Ham hero) was faster & harder punching than Watson & Eubank (my hero, my south east London hero) but they both schooled him.

Chris Jnr hasn't had the experience to travel 12 hard, busy rounds against Saunders yet.

I could well be wrong & I don't care as I like both fighters. :D

Billy will take him to school, he's an Olympian, a Brit/commonwealth/euro champ, and has the best trainer in the country to boot. Eubank has a twitter account, a famous dad and done a bit of sparring.

I think BJS is gonna make him look foolish and lots of people will kick themselves for buying into the hype.

Actually, I'd disagree with this one. BJS has always struck me as a fighter who is very mentally strong, calm, but with a nasty streak in him too. With Eubank Jnr he just comes across as a bit surly and impatient to me, and I'm not sure how much of that is an act. I guess time will tell.

No pundits will be going for Eubank, but upsets do happen. Laurence Murphy v Wayne Elcock springs to mind.

It`s an intriguing match-up though, really hope it happens as planned.
With Saunders it`s almost a case of even from his Am days you could fairly accurately predict how his career would turn out, great stylist but with limited power giving him a nearly-but-not-quite-there outcome, but with Junior the sky could be the limit if he lives up to the hype at all.
It`s only sparring I know but the rounds Junior had with Froch really impressed me TBH,and if he can find the stamina to sustain his explosiveness throughout the 12 rounds it could be interesting.
I predict a late stoppage for Saunders at this stage of their respective career`s,this fight has come slightly too early for Junior at this point for me.

Reading back through the thread I'm surprised people say that Eubank JNR is lazy....he's not lazy at all in my opinion he's simply following his dads advice and style in that the longer he is in the ring the more he will learn. It's obvious he can blow away the bums he has fought but what will he get out of that?

Biding his time allows him to learn and also build up the haters/interest and importantly not make him unavoidable from a matchmaking perspective.......it's clearly worked as BJS doesn't rate him but I think this will lead to his downfall as EBJ is the real deal from what I've seen heard and read and I think he could knock BJS out

Hope this fight happens, if for no other reason than to see why so many people are so high on Eubank... I'm really surprised that so many people are backing Eubank to win. Just looking at the comments in this thread it looks like a 50/50 fight with the only guy capable of getting the KO being Eubank, which just seems like nonsense to me. Not having a dig at people, but this fight more than any other in recent years has me confused, simply because I don't get why Eubank is so highly regarded. I don't think he has a prayer of beating BJS right now, maybe in a few years, but even then I'd like to see him fighting a better level of opposition before I even entertained the idea of him operating at European/ World level. I expect BJS to have an easy night of it to be honest. Mid rounds KO or dominant 118-110 type of scorecards.

I think the opposite of you

I just don't get the BJS hype.....I have seen him box twice live and more on TV but just fail to get excited by him, he's good for sure, but not amazing.

I see it as close but a Eubank win,

No problem admitting i'm wrong if BJS wins but I don't think he will and I really hope this fight goes ahead to test my own judgement

Eubank is being made out to be a mamoth puncher
in his early fights im sure alot of people were questioning his power and he seemed to load up
the guys he has blasted out have been nothing short of Small , Very limited imports
Saunders really should outwork Eubank and win a wide points if not get a stoppage

Unless Eubank lands that Famous Tiger Upercut that these easter europeans have been tasting

that said Eubank hasnt put a foot wrong but this his first Test and a massive jump in class and fair play to him
and Fair paly to BJS for stepping down a level to silence him rather than fight a Title route fight

The hype over BJS and Eubank is night and day though, isn't it? Not many people are talking about BJS like he is a world beater, in fact there are plenty who think he has already got as far as he's ever going to get. In comparison Eubank has beaten no one, done nothing, KO'd no one of note but is talked about like a concussive puncher with silky smooth skills who can go all the way! I don't get it. At least BJS has already achieved and got a few notable scalps compared to Eubank.

I'd definitely agree with this, if Eubank takes the fight he deserves some credit for taking such a huge step.
