Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
I bought them on Sunday because I was getting twitchy from looking at the Eventim site seating plan that tickets I was prepared to pay for would sell out prior to the press conference.scrap iron wrote:
I've been stung a few times before on tickets for fights that never happen so I do feel sympathy for you.
However if you thought it was "Soooooo predictable" that Saunders v Eubank Jnr wouldn't happen why the hell would you buy tickets on the basis that it would?
As for getting a refund I think legally you can only demand one if the tickets actually have "Saunders v Eubank Jnr" written on them. The reason why a refund was offered for the 26 July show is because the tickets clearly had "Chisora v Fury" written on them. So the people who didn't go and returned their tickets got a full refund. I think your best chance of a refund for the 29 November show is if Chisora or Fury pull out of the main event again.
A few years ago a lot of shows I went to would only have "Championship Boxing" written on them, this meant bills could completely change from the day of announcement to the night of the fight and as long as some bogus title was still on the line ticketing agencies could dig their heels in and refuse to give a refund.
And I am a sucker as I wanted it to be true ... even though it was too good to be true

Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
The gist is that at no point has the fight been made. There are clauses in the contract that the Eubanks are, up to now, not prepared to accept i.e. options.

I am not surprised at all if they knew Eubank would bottle it but took advantage of it anyway just to sell tickets for the event etcMaxsplit wrote:I bought them on Sunday because I was getting twitchy from looking at the Eventim site seating plan that tickets I was prepared to pay for would sell out prior to the press conference.scrap iron wrote:

As much stick as he gets you are spot on.mullenman wrote:i have had allegedly since the very first day

if the stories are true fwank is a gangster and this is not something eddie hearn would ever do
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
The general gist of it was that the fight had been agreed between them a few times and that Frank had been talking to the Eubanks till 11pm last night and it was apparantly done but then this morning at 8 or something it was off again. It all sounds bizarre to be honest.Boxerbeetle wrote:Can you put a brief description of what he said please mate? He has quite a few fights listed as Scott Quigg vs TBA though and so on. Obviously not as bad as the forementioned but still not great.Naandrew wrote:As much stick as he gets you are spot on.mullenman wrote:i have had allegedly since the very first day

Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
No shock here. Anybody who listened to Francis Warren's interview with IFL the other day should have had the alarm bells ringing.... when asked about the Saunders-Eubank Jr fight being done, a very cagey 'it looks that way' kind of answer - certainly not the sound of a promoter who had everything signed, sealed and delivered.
Forget the legalities, FW is killing his business with this bullshit. He is announcing these phantom fights on a regular basis... anybody remember the Chisora-Wilder debacle last year? People are just less likely to go to his fights/subscribe to his TV station - simple as that.
I'd be interested to see who they have lined up for BJS' major title shot. No chance of Cotto or Golovkin, Andrade-Korobov fighting for the WBO and Soliman-Taylor for the IBF. Can only assume one of those two fights has fallen through for whatever reason (I know Taylor has big legal problems on the horizon, for example) and Saunders will nip in as a replacement. Or more likely, it's just an eliminator.

Fvcking crooks. Despite all the misgivings, I was really looking forward to this fight. Frank must think we're fcking idiots to try this on so soon after the original card collapsed.
I'm seriously considering cancelling allegedly now & just watching streams, fvck em. I dunno why, but this has just really pissed me off more than usual, wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be the final straw for a lot of people.

Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
There has been promotional material out there from the promoter confirming this fight and linking to ticket selling websites. This is not 'as described' so you are entitled to a refund.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
Some rumours going about that Eubank jnr is gonna sign with matchroom. No idea if there is any truth to it.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
This could be a very tough fight for both men. I'm predicting a Saunders victory on points.

Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
So who is BJS fighting? Five o'clock has been and gone.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
Nah mate, I didn't. A couple of friends of mine have watched Eubank Jr and they are convinced that he is the real deal. I'm just not as keen on him as they are. For me, I'm not sure if he will ever develop in to a world-class skilled boxer, nor do I think that he carries concussive KO power. So I find it difficult to envisage the finished-article of him being a World-Class operator.lefty wrote:You clearly havent read through the thread mate
Well, nothing that he has shown me thus far anyway.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
Yeah, so the fight is definitely off then...
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
100% agreed.black panther wrote:It's bang out of order to announce a fight that hasn't even been signed.
The boxing public should not be exploited or neglected like this. How are we (as customers) supposed to get organized when promoters won't even be straight with us about what is going on, and what is definitely not happening.
It's just a mess, a real fuck up.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders v Eubank Jnr
Poor old BJS, he really is so uneducated and lacking in intelligence, going by that interview.
I would expect the BBBoC to be speaking to him about his conduct. Why are so many boxers so backwards? Talking about rape etc... Absolute simpleton.
