Benny Briscoe should be in the IBHOF ??? Based upon what ? Who did he ever beat that should put him in. Esteban DeJesus has a way better case, and there are numerous fighters with better credentials then him.

DeJesus should be inducted. "Bad" Bennie Briscoe was one of the best middleweights who never won a world title. He nearly fought everybody in his career with the likes of Carlos Monzon, Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Emile Griffith. Briscoe beat George Benton, Tony Mundine and future WBA light heavyweight champions Vicente Rondon and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.

If great fighters who never challenge nor won the title with names like Sam Langford, Charley Burley and Jimmy Bivins why not "Bad" Bennie Briscoe?

But the problem is that there is a long list of fighters more deserving than DeJesus, and a very long one of fighters more deserving than Briscoe. For instance, at Lightweight, Lockport Jimmy Duffy, Charley White, Willie Joyce, and Paddy DeMarco haven't been elected, and they've got better credentials than Esteban DeJesus has.

Of course there a long list of fighters from every division this is why voters are giving the chance for every fighter who last fought before 1989 should get inducted long overdue. How about induct fighters from every division, but they are too many.

When the next fighters' induction to the International Boxing Hall of Fame comes, will the committee transfer current Hall of Famers who last fought to 1988 with the likes of from Modern to Old-Timers category, but in the Late Era category? Legends like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Archie Moore, Carlos Monzon, Marvelous Marvin Hagler and other Hall of Famers will be listed in the Old-Timer "Late Era" category, right?

Not sure exactly what you are referring to in regard to the Hall of Fame making some changes.

It seems to me that the selection process has always been a mystery. How many people vote? Who votes? How many votes do you need? What were the exact results say in last years election.
You can find that out in other sports. Nobody seems to know anything about the process. Sometimes I wonder if there is just 3 guys sitting around a table doing this.

Here's the answer to my question. This article was written by Lee Groves, one of the voters for the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

"To deal with the massive migration to the Old Timers category (and to continue to allow candidates to compete against their peers in terms of era), the Hall split that ballot into two parts – the “Early Era” from 1893-1942 and the “Late Era” from 1943-1988 that will be the new home for the former Moderns. Also, for the first time, this category will feature an alternating ballot from year to year; the Late Era boxers will be considered for the Class of 2015 while the Early Era candidates will be voted on next year and so on."

This means that legendary Hall of Famers like Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Archie Moore, Carlos Monzon, "Maverlous" Marvin Hagler, Henry Armstrong and Bob Foster will have their names transfer from Modern to Old-Timer "Late Era" category.

Just thought of another one: early 1900s San Francisco-area announcer Billy Jordan.

Along with Don Dunphy, Michael Buffer and the Lennons, Jordan belongs in the Hall of Fame.
