I can't remember if it was Tim Witherspoon or Larry Holmes who was the only champion promoted by Don King who didn't sue him - because he knew from the beginning that he was going to get ripped off so wasn't surprised or disappointed when it actually happened.
They just took the view that even after being ripped off they were still better of financially and career wise than if they didn't sign with King.
Oh it was Larry Holmes by the way , and Larry did say , he ripped me off for millions but he made me a very rich man . There was another famous manager , Richie , something he said , can't remember the excact words , but it was along the lines of
Don King ,, The man is the greediest bastard in the world , the man wants every dollar he makes , and every dollar your gonna make ,and in the meantime he craves for attention so much he s took to wearing his hair like he's been struck by lighting , Don King not to be trusted ,, but would i sign with Don King ,,, HELL YEH ,, Don King makes it happen , Don King can make you rich ..
