Agreed, if i was an up and coming prospect, or a seasomed pro, i would not touch him or his outfit with a barge pole.

I wonder just how many people has he sued, or attempted to sue, over the years? He probably spends more time in a court house than he does in his own home!

To be honest, for any top amateur turning over FW is probably still the best promoter go with - as long as you go into the deal with your eyes open.

I can't remember if it was Tim Witherspoon or Larry Holmes who was the only champion promoted by Don King who didn't sue him - because he knew from the beginning that he was going to get ripped off so wasn't surprised or disappointed when it actually happened.

They just took the view that even after being ripped off they were still better of financially and career wise than if they didn't sign with King.

Don King ,, The man is the greediest bastard in the world , the man wants every dollar he makes , and every dollar your gonna make ,and in the meantime he craves for attention so much he s took to wearing his hair like he's been struck by lighting , Don King not to be trusted ,, but would i sign with Don King ,,, HELL YEH ,, Don King makes it happen , Don King can make you rich ..

Do'nt come on here and shoot me down folks , its along them lines can't remember excatly it was years ago i read the book .. If memory serves me right the book was Black Lights

Given the original thread title I'm reminded of an old Scottish saying , " Have you ever tried getting blood out of a stone ?" in reference to enforcing the libel action.

I can see fwank being very insistent the debt is paid. He wouldn't want to see any funny business, like taking steps to dodge the debt.

Don't FW owe Joe Cal £2 mill, but swerved it by closing down the company and re opening it in a new name? If this is true, he's got a cheek to sue anyone lol

Calzaghe was sat ringside with Frank at one of his not so distant shows so im guessing they sorted that out somehow.

Not fact mate.
a company fw was involved in may have owed money but in law that company (and its debts) and fw are totally separate things. If a company dies the debts die with the company if that company doesn't have the assets to fulfil the debt. That's the whole point of limited liability in English company law

Yes and that's why if your dealing with "Companies" you protect yourself with Personal Guarantees. Unless the missus owns all the personal assets that is.

There is also the possibility that the corporate veil can be lifted by the courts making the shareholders personally liable for the company debts.

This is however rare and i dont think it happended in Joe Calzaghe's legal case against Sports Network. I believe FW was the majority shareholder in that company. It was subseuqently wound up after the judgement in the Calzaghe case.

We all know who that case reflected on (personally) badly, regardless of whether the courts made the judgement against the individual or the company...
