Re: World Top 30 P4P November 2014
Horse sorry mate but this is a pile of s**t.
Golovkin is the best fighter on the planet right now IMO and OK I can see the argument why you wouldn't put him at number one but number 8 is ridiculous. Wlad at 13 is insulting. Pacquiao, Gonzalez, Marquez, Bradley, Estrada all too high.
If Kovalev beats BHop (and I expect him to), he must surely be inside top ten also. At current 19 is too low.

I like fighters to actually achieve something before I give them a high ranking.Ian1973 wrote:Horse sorry mate but this is a pile of s**t.

Maybe I'm a little crazy or old fashioned, but noob hypejobs can wait their turn and shut their mouths before they get some top level wins to earn a good ranking.

No time frame on achievements? Ward hasn't done a thing in ages.Horse wrote:I like fighters to actually achieve something before I give them a high ranking.Ian1973 wrote:Horse sorry mate but this is a pile of s**t.

Totally agree, he has no business in the top 20.Ian1973 wrote:Horse sorry mate but this is a pile of s**t.

I see your point but some of these achievements were quite a while ago that surely doesn't entitle them to such high rankings now. A current top 30 is not an all time top 30 of active fighters surely?
The likes of GGG and Wlad are hardly hype jobs they are miles ahead of anyone in their respective divisions.

He'll be dropping soon.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:No time frame on achievements? Ward hasn't done a thing in ages.
Rigondeaux hasn't done much recently either. He'll be dropping as well.
Re: World Top 30 P4P November 2014
Wlad had to cheat against Povetkin it was embarrassing.Ian1973 wrote:I see your point but some of these achievements were quite a while ago that surely doesn't entitle them to such high rankings now. A current top 30 is not an all time top 30 of active fighters surely?

Golovkin has not proven that he is miles ahead of anyone else at middleweight. He's only beaten two top 10 middleweights in his 8.5 year career. I'm sick of his jock sniffers. He's not the P4P No. 1 at all, he is totally unworthy or such adulation.

I don't think your view on Golovkin is balanced .............. for whatever reason. Who would you like him to beat at middleweight? Martinez?
Wlad does grab and all the rest I totally agree but then so does Mayweather.

Murray is a good start.Ian1973 wrote:I don't think your view on Golovkin is balanced .............. for whatever reason. Who would you like him to beat at middleweight? Martinez?
Mayweather doesn't grab like Wladimir, not at all. Wladimir is in a league of his own. Pathetic.Ian1973 wrote:Wlad does grab and all the rest I totally agree but then so does Mayweather.

Given your adoration of Murray horse when GGG smashes him up does he go to no. 1 then? Now, come on, we all know how highly you rate Murray.
As for Wlad you are contradicting yourself a bit when you say your rankings are based on achievement yet you downgrade Wlad who has ruled the heavyweight division for years based on his style of performance.

No. Mayweather would still be the clear No. 1.Ian1973 wrote:Given your adoration of Murray horse when GGG smashes him up does he go to no. 1 then? Now, come on, we all know how highly you rate Murray.

1 Gennady Golovkin
2 Floyd Mayweather
3 Guillermo Rigondeaux
4 Wladimir Klitschko
5 Andre Ward
That is a better top 5.

That is a more polite response than I was expecting.

Re: World Top 30 P4P November 2014
Walters straight in above Miguel Cotto
another laughable list.
Re: World Top 30 P4P November 2014
Why is that laughable? Walters just steamrolled Rigondeaux's best win. At the moment Nicholas looks invincible, he deserves to be in the P4P top 30.Ricky_ wrote:Walters straight in above Miguel Cottoanother laughable list.

Re: World Top 30 P4P November 2014
Good, interesting and well-thought-out list as per usual.
Where to rank Wlad P4P is a tricky one and depends largely on how you do P4P. If you do it on "who beats who if they were the same size", then Wlad shouldn't be in the Top 30. Based on domination of one's own division, he's got to be Top 5, but the fact that his division is so weak undermines this.
I think #8 is very fair for GGG at this point given what he has accomplished and who he has fought.

He also whooped Darchinyan in his fight before that which is a pretty good win.Gregk wrote:Why is that laughable? Walters just steamrolled Rigondeaux's best win. What is the average weight for a heavyweight? Wlad is a big guy, but he generally doesn't weigh that much more than his opponents.jezzamundo wrote:Good, interesting and well-thought-out list as per usual.

Re: World Top 30 P4P November 2014
An improvement from some of the past ones, but I am not sure donaire belongs in the top 30 at this point. He simply isn't that good anymore and while he has some nice accomplishments, those are all a couple years ago.
Herrera in the top 30 is ridiculous.
Other than that, not bad.

He has beaten Darchinyan and Vetyeka in the last 12 months, so it's not as if he hasn't done anything of worth recently.jockpunk wrote:An improvement from some of the past ones, but I am not sure donaire belongs in the top 30 at this point. Herrera beat Garcia clearly. If Herrera doesn't deserve a place then neither does Garcia.jockpunk wrote:Herrera in the top 30 is ridiculous.

Because Miguel Cotto is simply a different class of fighter, anyone who seriously thinks boxers such as Walters or Mikey Garcia are p4p better fighters than Miguel Cotto is watching the wrong sport.
