Sprott fight should not even be allowed and how he has got a licence still is beyond belief. The BBBoC should be ashamed of themselves.
Johnson fight will be just a total bore fest so I think a good fight out there for two young upcoming heavyweights is Hughie Fury v AJ. The fight for me makes sense and could in the future lead to some trilogy.
Why should Sprott not be allowed a licence? What are you talking about?
Have you heard him speak over the last two years? The BBBoC have a duty to protect him. He can have have his medicals which might state he is fit to fight but his speech has completely slurred and that is through becoming a human punchbag as a sparring partner for elite heavyweights and being too easy to hit in his fights over the last couple of years.

Jumping back in the ring with some-one who sparked him shows plenty of heart in my opininion. Whilst his chin may be questioned, there is nothing to suggest lack of heart.

I don't think this will happen yet, maybe towards the end of 2015 it could be a maybe, but this year and so early in Joshua's career, its too big a risk and its far too soon against someone like Johnson

I don't think it's that big of a risk given how fighters like Charr and Hammer did against Johnson. He was never that good and he seems to be in journeyman mode lately, which I think could help Joshua get in rounds while reducing his chance of losing.

Really? Took an absolute beating, a pasting, in the second Thompson fight but he's back fighting. I don't think his heart is in question, not like he quit is it?

If anyone would like a wager when/if they fight i'll call your bets. :TU:

That's it ban him so he then can't to support his family, then he can live on the dole with no aspirations in life as an old has been with no motive to life, but with plenty of story's to tell people? maybe he can come on here and be your friend, telling people what they should and shouldn't do in their life's. :TU:

Great fight for Joshua. Let's see how he deals with a guy who's never been stopped and actually has a decent jab. Low risk unless he makes silly mistakes or gasses out, and if AJ stops him it makes a great statement - otherwise, it's valuable rounds in the bank.

Johnsons jab will be the best learning experience AJ will come across IMO, it really is tremendous whether he uses it going forward or on the back foot. I appreciate Kingpin isn't exciting, and has little ambition but he still poses a lot of questions.... Chisora didn't come through his fight without a few issues despite what people say.

Journeyman or not, very good matchmaking from a learning experience.

The truth is... He all want to see Kevin Johnson and his trainer back in UK for the interviews and the press conferences
'Do I look like a step?'
'Nope'
'Do I look like a stone?'
'You're looking like the champ to me!'

Classic.

Perfect opponent IMO, good jab and a decent defensive fighter who won't just stand there to be hit. Doesn't pose a massive threat of a flash KO but is a decent name with a decent enough record. Would like to see how Joshua deals with him, and also someone like Cunningham, who although he got knocked out did ask a few questions of Tyson Fury?

Cunningham would take the fight. He is much more active than most HW fighters out there.

Disagree it looked like he gave up to me, i question weather he has the mental toughness needed to grit it out when hurt he just seemed to go into a shell and wait for the fight to be stopped imo. He just cant take a punch either.

Fatigue makes a coward of men

That was the simplicity of the Thompson rematch for me,too tired to give a fook what happens

Price's heart should count as a weak point.

Ive never seen anything from Price to suggest his hearts a problem, including the first Thompson fight where he got clipped and his legs deserted him,he would have continued had the ref let him, although thankfuly that never happened

Then he forced the rematch and came out with intent right from the off, then from what i seen he gassed visably like no fighter ive ever seen, maybe if it was near the end he maybe could have seen it out and maybe got a second wind but it was far too early to gas and he just crumbled to tiredness

Gassing in the first half of the fight is rare and wrong even for a HW,Price put a lot in but still.....

I've never seen anything from Price to suggest that he has a good fighting heart, but I have seen him turn away from an onslaught and quit.

As far as I'm concerned Price should be known to lack heart until he shows some heart in a fight.

Kevin Johnson for Joshua, good choice?

Post by Mimmy »

so what we think of this match up in January? Im sure Joshua will want to dispatch quickly. Both Chisora nd Fury took him all the way so a good early stoppage will be good.

Why would he want another early stoppage? That's all he has.

Joshua needs to hold back a bit and make his fights last a few rounds longer.

Good fight for further marketing of the Joshua brand. Little doubt he destroys Johnson yearly. I can already hear Eddies exciting voice reciting the list of people who could not stop him, from Vitali to Fury. What it will hide though is the fact that Kevin Johnson doesn't come to win, in his last fights he looked little better then a corpse and fighting deadbeat who only cares to survive is a compete waste of time for Joshua. He already looked bored to death against Sprott and he badly needs someone who can actually challenge him in the ring, who can make his blood pumping. Well, at least we will get some cool IFLTV interviews about sex, women and meaning of life from one of the best talkers in the game.

Johnson wasn't that bad against Charr. This fight isn't a waste of time for Joshua at all.

Price has poor chin and stamina. Maybe he punched himself out in the second Thompson fight. Too much nervous energy perhaps. I don't think his heart gave out, I think it was pure exhaustion and he had nothing left to give. He will surely forever be haunted by the visual of him unable to continue on front of his own fans, especially after all the hype. The first TT fight could have been called a fluke but in the second fight he was beaten into submission. Bit like what happened in the first fight Wlad had against Brewster. Wlad says he watches that prior to every fight now in order to stay focused.
