Khans shorts
Khans shorts
Amir khans shorts have cost a whooping £20,000 for this particular fight.
He even had a range of shorts done just for training.
Boxing shorts companies seem to be making a killing now. Seen suzi wing is doing good business, there's a local called mr power who does well and now fight label.

Re: Khans shorts
They've cost Amir fornicate all. Almost without exception the entire internet is brimming with unwitting shills and marketers.
Re: Khans shorts
Mr Power (Dougal) makes very good training/fighting kits and also a very honest guy.
Good business to be in ATM, more fighters than ever???

The shorts will be given free to him for the publicity
Re: Khans shorts
The woman who made the shorts has had a fair amount of publicity out of it. Been on 5Live and Talksport this week.

Re: Khans shorts
For 20 large the shorts look crap. Mainly due to all the promo text on them.... But they're ordinary looking.
I actually really like the gold tiger print inside, but barring Amir being knocked on his arse, and the shorts riding up, they won't be seen.

I hope they're padded
Re: Khans shorts
waste of money, time and effort.
its a boxing match and if he losses no one is going to say "you lost, but your shorts look great" and even if he wins no one care's about his shorts.

Re: Khans shorts
Really? Is it that great PR? For that to be true, the company would have to get over £20k of sales directly related to these shorts.Old Jack J wrote:Got alot of press for the fight though.
Great PR.
I, speculatively, think not.

Re: Khans shorts
Its publicity. It gets khan talked about. Its not necessarily this fight but it definitely increases the khan brand value.reggaereggae wrote:Really? Is it that great PR? Theres an old saying " all publicity is good publicity" and team khan have made headlines with these shorts.

They've plucked the £20K figure out of their a-holes, mate.reggaereggae wrote:Really? Is it that great PR? For that to be true, the company would have to get over £20k of sales directly related to these shorts.Old Jack J wrote:Got alot of press for the fight though.

Re: Khans shorts
If Khan donates whatever he gets for wearing them then all's good
Re: Khans shorts
If the shorts were £20 rather than £20k, would they have looked any different? What's so special about a white pair of trunks?
Re: Khans shorts
I sincerely doubt that they cost £20k and were given to him for nothing; it would be impossible to recoup. One of the two things isn't true.

Re: Khans shorts
Does anybody else think khan giving that school his shorts is a bit stupid and insensitive? They might have cost so much money to make, but is anybody actually going to pay anything for them? Nobody's going to shell out 20 or 30 grand for a pair of sweaty shorts won by Amir khan. Why didn't he just give the school the same money, he's rich enough, and shut up about the crappy shorts. How is it going to work? He posts the school his shorts and then they have to put them up on eBay? How much will they get for them? What if nobody actually buys them? Or they go for a fraction of the stated value? I don't think this was a good move at all.
Re: Khans shorts
I recently read an article by somebody (can't remember their name) who is considered one of the top marketing people in the world.
He said that if a company had a marketing budget of £5m then his advice to get most out of it would be to give £1m to charity and to spend £4m telling everybody about it.

Dougal (Mr Power) has been around for years. Used to do all the Matchroom stuff back in the 90's. Must be about 95 now ![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
I was told that Khans early career shirts were costing around a grand. Talk about inflation!
