He's was pretty good considering he turned pro quite late in life, he has achieved a lot but not a great.

I agree - very good, but not great.
His punch against Roy was not lucky, but he was lucky to fight RJJ in the proper moment. RJJ was at the beginning of decline and with his style (speed, reflexes) he had to lose quickly... as shown by the rest of his career.
