And Manny may find out too late that Floyd punches as hard or harder.

Means nothing because they are different types of counter punchers. Marquez ALWAYS puts himself in position to be hit in order to counter Pacquiao. He's even willing to take some to get his counters off. That was the trick against Pacquiao. Now ask yourself is Floyd willing to do that?

Marquez getting in range is not the same as him being willing to take a shot to give one.

The best counterpunchers (and JMM certainly is one) try to use distance to draw fire yet NOT get hit.

JMM gets hit more now because he is older, simple as that.

Hint: Check Pac's punches landed in each fight.

Hint 2: Compare how much JMM gets hit by Pac to how much other fighters get hit by Pac.

Go and ask JMM if he wanted to be knockdown 3 times by Manny in their first fight or those other times he was put down and I can guarantee anyone that JMM will not say "I was waiting for him to hit me so I could counter".

JMM gets hit (and has gotten hit more as he has gotten older) not because he is trying to "give one to get one" but because he just can't avoid punches as well as he used to.

Keep in mind, his D is still lightyears ahead of a whole lot of folks and over the years he has taken less punishment from Pac than almost every other opponent.

What is interesting is, even with the 3 KDs, the punches landed for Pac in the first fight were the lowest for the 3 that went the distance, with JMM getting hit more each successive fight.

Fact is, the first 3 fights could all have gone either way, and he's clearly done better against Manny than any other opponent. And you know this.

Yes he's done better against Manny but that's like saying Maidana and Castillo did better against Floyd. It doesn't dispute the fact that they didn't win. Marquez only won once.

Lumping Floyd and JMM under the "counter-puncher" umbrella is foolish. Marquez's style is significantly different from Mayweather's.
