He avoided them without a doubt. The big guns/$$$$$$ don't chase. Tszyu was not the big gun, the others were and were fighting each other. Just accept it. :TU:

Exactly, that's why Harmon is making the big fights now, titles are like pieces of Lego...... Who cares about them.

KT fought Stiffs at 140lbs for the majority of those defences in a backwater boxing country like Australia..... :OhYes:

Mordey sold him the dream and Vlad promised him more, that's why they fell out basically.

Yep Kel spot on. :TU:

Boxing titles/trinkets don't mean much when guys like Sam Soliman have won them and guys like Danny Greeny proclaim that they are 4 time/3weight world champs. It just doesn't mean much, the hardcore fans know this.

What matters in boxing is your resume and Tszyu's is very slim for a boxer who some say is a great. Best win Zab Judah/close thread discussion over. :salut:

Is that the best you've got mate. Continue the boxing discussion. Why do you consider Tszyu such a great. Tell us about his great wins over great fighters. I'm all ears.

I can see where your coming from pureist, although personally I wouldn't rate Kosta top 100, like Don curry before him he was p4p rated number 1 but didn't quite have those legacy fights in his prime. I certainly see where your coming from about all the tossers coming over since esb aussie forum closed down.

This is correct. Some of us have come over from other forums and have really got the boxing talk buzzing in here since. BUZZING. :TU:

Lets all enjoy the forum and talk boxing. Everyone has different opinions which is good for boxing forum discussions. :box:

Tszyu is nowhere near top 100. Like most have said, his best wins vs Judah. Vince Phillips destroyed him. How's that cleaning out a division? Did he rematch Vince??

Vince Philips destroyed him? Did you watch the fight? It was a great close fight in which Philips outlasted Tyszu. Tyszu went onto to dominate light welter for years, Philips never quite repeated his heroics of that night. I grew up watching Ricky Hatton and was lucky enough to see him box live 5 times before he beat Kostya, I loved watching Ricky, he brought it all, had all the mad fans singing the football chants of his name, but I still felt a bit gutted when he beat Kostya. It was an end of an era. People seem to forget how dominate and great to watch Kostya Tyszu was.

Hard to tell this day and age as not every great fighter boxes each other like they used too, but I'd say Kostya was a fantastic fighter! and had a long spell as champ but I think his record needs to have a few more big names on it to be an all time great.

Best win is Judah, but best performances I would say his beat down of Gonzalez & destruction of Mitchell in the rematch.

Agree with Judah probably best win, he beat Gonzales easier that De la hoya did
it took him 2 rounds to destroy Judah [ when Zab was going to be the next superstar ]
6 years later it took Cotto 11 rounds rounds
then 10 years after Kostya it took Khan 5 rounds
Khan is not a big puncher but in between no one stopped Judah like Kostya.

It was a good wine, but boy did Zab really put a boxing clinic on KT in that first rd.

There is no such thing as a lucky punch but I bet KT was glad he landed it when he did

Zab lost all of his big fights. It really doesn't say much that he is Tszyu's best win.
