Lee Murtagh went looking for a church on holiday over Easter. It was Greek Orthodox, he said he was an Irish Southpaw!

Mathews vs Tony Luis would be a cracking scrap,I seen Luis bully Karl Dargan who was unbeaten earlier this year, Darleys Perez comes to fight too

Anyone think Hearn has something to do with this??? Hearn might of offered Abril for Crolla in May on the PPV card?

Only reason i say that is I wouldn't trust Eddie as far as i can throw him!

Be nice if hearn and warren could work it together and wrangle it so Corolla and Mathews could square off for the title!

I get that Derry is a long-proven warrior, but this has many qualities of sanctioning body BS. He's ranked 51st by BoxRec, widely lost four fights ago to Ormond shortly after being outclassed by Tommy Coyle for about ten rounds, and he's arguably won solely at domestic level. This was a voluntary and there are multiple people ranked ahead of him by the WBA, so he can consider himself very fortunate if he gets to contest the vacant title against the lowest rated person who is eligible to do the same. Have the WBA asked every higher ranked fighter if they would've taken the fight? Why not wait until the 1-4 fighters are available to have the fight rather than having a fight between 5 and 15? Will the winner be forced to immediately defend against the highest rated challenger who will take the fight?

Keep in mind that virtually any fighter who benefits from sanctioning body BS at the world title level has probably boxed for years, put a great amount of time and effort into it, and has friends, family, and fans from their region who think they deserve the chance.

This guy is in the frame number 15 with WBA - They are considering it apparently, although not sure what to believe really, hope Derry still
gets his chance though

It is The above guy ISMAEL BARROSO for the interim belt, Abril champ in recess and Perez the new champion.

This should be an interesting few rounds. This bloke has fought complete garbage but looks like he can bang.

He, surprisingly, wasn't too bad when he fought Kinda on US TV. I was expecting him to be a patsy in that fight, turned he could actually box.
I think Barroso looks crude as he tends to wing away with his wild left and right hooks out of the southpaw stance. Can't help thinking if Derry keeps it tight for the first few rounds he could stop this guy late or win on points. The thing is Matthews is the most unpredictable boxer in British boxing. You never know who is going to turn up.
