I quite like Froch but I can see why he rubs some people up the wrong way. I couldn't go Witter either! I put Bellew, Khan and Broner in the same bracket!

I really don't mind Froch. From a boxing perspective he's world class and very tough (I was going to say 'teak tough' but then thought....not that cliche.) I just think that he's a bit of an oddball so can be difficult to warm to.

I think he really did himself a disservice with his behaviour prior to the Groves fight.

As Carl himself might say 'Carl Froch is a complex character and Carl Froch is who Carl Froch is. Now Rachael can you come and make Carl Froch his tea.'

He can come across as arrogant at times but given what he has achieved in his career I can forgive him.
There a premier league footballers who have achieved nothing in comparison who are just as arrogant.
He does seem a little strange sometimes though, but then any man who doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs and enjoys getting punched in the face while their missus shrieks like a banshee would seem a bit weird to me.

That's fair comment and I can believe it's true, very successful sportsmen are different from the average Joe and I reckon around friends and familiar people they can relax a bit and not feel on parade.

I can second that, see him out around where I live fairly often, he is always happy to talk to people and have his photo taken with them etc. I get baffled that people can see a fighters public persona and think that's all there is too them.

i kinda agree but I'm a frock fan, but the fact he has achieved so much makes you wonder why he needs to keep up the 'i'm great' routine. Pacman come across so humble which makes him so loved globally.

It seems like a self belief thing, he has to keep telling himself how good he is in order to believe it,
deep down he probably lacks confidence.

Well, judging by this thread and I've only read the first page, the poor bastard seems to have gone down like a lead balloon - or like a Carl Froch opponent hitting the canvas.

It's weird - the sleeve of his book, which I picked up from the Heart shop is full of his standard self-aggrandizing boll*cks - I don't know why I bought it - but the book itself is marvellous and Froch comes over sound as a pound and as down to Earth as you like. I even thought he might have done Calzaghe after I'd read it - maybe I was Cobra'd by his book!
