Today is the day to cancel SKY Sports if your a football fan and want to save money for the summer.

You have to give SKY 31 days notice if you plan to cancel SKY Sports. If you cancel today, SKY Sports will go off at midnight on the 24th May. The 24th May is the last day of the Premiership football season. When the season starts again in August, just call SKY and ask for the channels to be added to your package again. A nice wee saving in the summer months, should be around £50 to £60 in your pocket.

After the 24th May, most of the big football events are on free TV anyway:

27th May - UEFA Europa League Final - ITV4
30th May - Scottish FA Cup Final - BBC 1
30th May - FA Cup Final - ITV
6th June - UEFA Champions League Final - ITV
7th June - Republic of Ireland v England - ITV
14th June - Slovenia v England - ITV

Plus other events like The French Open starts on 25th May on ITV4, Wimbledon is shown by the BBC along with 50% of F1 races. A summer of free sport!

Fair dos. To be fair, I rarely notice picture quality unless it's absolutely terrible. Similarly to people moaning about IFL not shooting in HD, it really doesn't bother me. Must have poor eyesight! I hope things change very soon though as currently I'm not happy with what I'm paying but I can't just cancel and move to Netflix as there's no sport. Money-wise, I wish I wasn't into sport as it would save me about £50 a month.
Why not just buy a Sky sports pass from Now TV as and when you want watch something important ?

It's 6.99 for a day pass or 10.99 for a week pass.

All you need is smart tv, a games console, an ipad - anything that you can download the now TV app to and watch it.

i just cancelled my sports and TV package , the woman was nice enough
the only offfer was that if i cancell the sports , she would still give me a dicsount on the movies but i says theres no point , i did say my reason the fights coming up on Pay per view ( although i says fair enough paying for mayweather but the one at end of may is a disgrace )

Brought my Bill down from 74.00gbp to 36.00gbp a month.

i have a feeling of relief but worry also , you just get used to having channels you hardly watch.

next puchase is a little Micro HDMI cable to get my Phone onto the TV for any fights that i want watch that are on saturday night.

Well i eventually answered and sky offered me the following deal, unlimited internet, line rental and sky plus for recording pausing etc for £15 a month, normal price would be £33,so i'm happy with that :yay:
