I can't understand all the hate for Adam Smith, I like him ,he's passionate, clearly loves the sport, does anyone really care what school he went to? Also his book was a great read

Because football doesn't need casuals to bump up the viewing figures, football is the most watched sport in the country by a considerable distance. The problem with boxing is that there is no demand for it, boxings biggest bouts tend to take place on friday or saturday nights which means it's competing with football highlights, films, X-Factor/BGT/The Voice/BB all that twaddle, not to mention the many people who will be out on the piss those nights as well.expe wrote:Watched a bit of it in the barbers this afternoon, Paddy Considine at least seemed to know what he was talking about, Will Mellor could name a few fighters, Lethal Bizzle was the absolute typical casual fan from what I saw, named Tyson, Naz and Mayweather. They'd never do shite like this for football, but for some reason it's ok with boxing.
By putting a few faces on shows like Ringside the people with little to no interest in boxing may see on Twitter that Will Mellor or Lethal Bizzle are on Ringside so they tune in and hear about this massive fight next weekend and you never know, young people nowadays might tune in because it's the "cool" thing to do.
Re: Tonights Ringside was it an all time low?
It's the best sport in the world it's baffling people don't tune in? they do not know what they are missing.
Re: Tonights Ringside was it an all time low?
Debatable, great sport for sure though. There's a lot more choice of what to watch these days though and unfortunately people would rather tune into a fat talentless shop worker trying to sing.Rexob wrote:It's the best sport in the world it's baffling people don't tune in? they do not know what they are missing.

Which sport comes close? MMA maybe.

Well as a youth I used to race motorbikes which is a sport I still love to this day, requires incredible fitness, skill and bravery like you rarely see in other sports especially when you have to accept the fact that if you want to get anywhere near the top you're going to have to take a fair few broken bones(something which I couldn't accept and why I decided it wasn't for meRexob wrote:Which sport comes close? Football, MMA is shite.Rexob wrote:Which sport comes close? MMA maybe.

So is football to be fair IMO it's just something that I don't not get, what all the love is about? it's beyond me?

People do tune in! When done properly it's up there in the popularity stakes. Pubs in my city centre are staying open and charging entrance fees next week.

It's been garbage for a long time. Deleted it after 10 minutes.

Ringside is crap nowadays. Soccer am has always been a laugh I went on the show a couple of months ago when Ricky hatton was.on it was great live and it s light hearted and even the mrs watches it. allegedly I was going to cancel but it seems to be.getting better. Ringside need to stop the heavy biasedness regarding fighters as it s too heavily linked to hearns fighters. My only gripe with allegedly is it does not repeat sat night fights so of I forget to record u r stuffed for a while
