please, no rematch.

I can agree with that sentiment.

The fight itself was meaningless the moment Pac got KO'd.
A rematch would be used to torture terror suspects.

Let them have it... Let them charge $200 for the PPV and sell 150 tickets to the public. See how many fans return for it...

He didn't even try to finish off Algieri of all fighters. I don't think it damaged him physically like some though, he was in great shape. But his gameplan changed to where he wasn't the same anymore.

Definitely not worth $99 a second time around. Now if the rematch had a stacked undercard and standard ppv price then ill buy .... No way at $99

Re: please, no rematch.
Watching the post-fight presser now with Pac, Arum & Roach giving the hard sell on his supposed injury & it's embarrassing to see. A bit disgusting too.
And it pisses me off too, because it all feels so "canned". So pre-prepared.
So, get ready for the quick turnaround rematch coming in September. *yawn*

Re: please, no rematch.
It is hard to imagine a rematch selling in any real way. Perhaps they could divide the purse of a rematch $38 / 32 million. But I imagine that they would just rather fight mediocre contenders if the financials were just gonna play out like that.
Re: please, no rematch.
This fight was like a sparring session. I doubt will see a rematch.

That's precisely my point though.MachoTime wrote:This fight was like a sparring session. I doubt will see a rematch.
I don't it matters at all what we do or do not want to see. I'm pretty certain now that this September rematch was a part of the deal all along. And that unless tonight's PPV turns out to be a massive under performer, that a rematch is exactly what we're going to see.
And it will sell. As much of an inevitable backlash as the fight is getting for not living up to the hype, there's still a lot of know nothing knuckleheads out there screaming "Manny was robbed!" & with that, combined with Manny & his camp shamelessly hard selling this lame excuse that they obviously had in their back pockets all along... It make me want to puke.

a bar that had no places inside anymore, so i was standing
for three hours or so. not complaining, just trying to
explain why this thing made me angry enough to not
want to see any of the two live anymore. TBE my a$$.
somebody called it a "masterclass" ... really? in what?
and please do not tell me how hungry manny is and
save me all injury crap. crybaby and TBE: sajonara.
above all i had it very close, a SD for either guy or a
draw. i am tired of floyd convincing the world that
not hitting without getting hit is winning rounds.

Who else is their if it aint GGG then who else :?? Khan jesus help us, MAYWEATHER probably won't want a rematch because this time he'll feel obliged to stand and fight more something he is and never will be comfortable with.
Re: please, no rematch.
LOL, no rematch because the fight was so easy he doesn't have nothing to prove by beating him again.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:Who else is their if it aint GGG then who else :?? They could schedule this for September and still do 2 plus million buys.
The general public are idiots.
I would have no interest in a rematch but the general public will buy it.

Short but succinct.man wrote:thnx.
This is definitely one occasion where a rematch is absolutely not warranted.
I don't think the fight world has the desire to wait another six years for them to negotiate a bout that will culminate in Mayweather completely outclassing the useless Pacquiao.
Re: please, no rematch.
Can you really deny a rematch, given how much money this one made these two?
Re: please, no rematch.
Business wise it makes sense, but the casual fans who rarely buy shows seem to have taken the show very negatively. Yet you can spin it with Pac's "injury" & I'm sure enough will buy into the hype all over again.JCS wrote:Can you really deny a rematch, given how much money this one made these two?

Yeah.. maybe they "only" make 50-75% this time... but that's plenty.moogie101 wrote:Business wise it makes sense, but the casual fans who rarely buy shows seem to have taken the show very negatively. Yeah he only put enough on those shots just to knock him down softly so that he'd get back up.JeanClaude Van Damme wrote:Ian1973 wrote:JeanClaude Van Damme wrote:The fight itself was meaningless the moment Pac got KO'd.

Re: please, no rematch.
Stephen A. Smith reports that Mayweather is willing to rematch Pacquiao when he returns.. whether that be in September, or a year from now.
Re: please, no rematch.
no more floyd fights at all. we all get, he is the #1, but also #1 atg most boring, he brought boringness to another level (i realy cant thnk of an world class atg boxer more boring than him), even the very defensive pernell did sometimes try to mix it up and tried to make it fun.

Not sure we anyone wants to see it? I'm sure Jimmy Kemmel can arrange to dip a chicken in some KY Jelly and see if Pacquaio can catch it with a 36 minute time frame and it can be aired for free.
Bring on Pacquaio vs JMM 5.
