Stick that fight in Glasgow, with a neutral referee and there's only one winner.

Close fight, Figueroa won just. The result isn't the issue, it is the width of the scorecards.

Sounds like daylight robbery, truely gutted for Burns but glad he's back to form.

Looks like Haymon may have the ref and 3 judges in his pocket. Brits beware, fcuk fighting Stateside against one of his boys on his PBC shows.

Credit to Burns did not think he had a performance like that in him. Just wish he had the same ref and judges McDonald had

Close fight no issue with Figueroa winning but 117-109 is insulting to Burns.

No it's not. Figueroa edged it, don't forget there were two point deductions, like it or not. It was close though, one round maybe two but the cards are just silly.

And the point deductions were robberies from a referee worse than Ian John-Lewis.

That's another issue though. Once the ref gives them you can't ignore them.

I am not getting at Burns performance, he is a gutsy brave fighter, but he was holding a lot and maybe if he stuck to boxing more he would've got a fairer crack at the whip. He has had a fair few home decisions in the past so its a case of evening these things up. He lost against Beltran and got away with it, no point in crying wolf if it goes the other way. It was a game effort, the scorecards were ridiculous but we all knew he would have to ko the guy to win before it started.

He won't be the first or the last. It's just boxing.

Were the point deductions warranted in anyway, sounds to me like they were not. By the sounds of it Fig was the one more worthy of getting points deducted.

One probably. Two no. The ref was as bad as the judges.

I had Burns a point up even after the deductions. I cant think of a clear quality punch Figueroa landed. It was similar in some ways to Brook Porter except Burns landed more than 4 times.

Ok, but what about Fig, was he worthy of a point deduction maybe? Sounds like the ref has been very opportunistic and outright biased in favour of Fig.
