Re: judges again...
Did Algeiri really dominate khan? i missed the fight. Here I don't know why a lot of ppl counted out ol Algeiri. Kept reading threads that Khan was going to knock him out lol
Re: judges again...
Algieri didn't dominate, you're sounding as delusional as the people who scored it wide for Khan. It was the perfect example of a draw, but if you had to lean toward either guy, I'd give it to Algieri as he connected to the head and body with more authority with just a bit more regularity, as Khan had more moments of throwing non-connecting fluff. It pretty much says it all when Algieri appeared to be the harder puncher of the two.
Re: judges again...
Judges did a fine job this time. They did a poor job when they gave Algieri a win over Provo.
Re: judges again...
6 Peoples on a forum has 116-112 for Algieri

Re: judges again...
Mayweather should give Amir a list of "approved" fighters of Floyd's choice to beat in order to secure a Floyd fight. If I were Floyd I would say get through Lucas Matthysse at 147 then you got a shot. If not go fight someone else
Re: judges again...
I thought Khan won clear. 116-112 range sounds about right. There is ZERO way Chris won 7 rounds, nor dominated. It was a spirited effort from him and I think the switch on trainers will work out good for him. He showed in the Pacman fight he is nowhere near the A level and tonight he showed he's still a ways off on the level below that.

title he's carrying from him.

you can't land 3 hard shots and get outscored 47-1 and expect a victory.ikorolev wrote:Judges did a fine job this time. They did a poor job when they gave Algieri a win over Provo.

Re: judges again...
If I were Floyd I would take the Khan fight. Load up the undercard and leave the sport of boxing with a spectacular Pacquiao/Hatton esque KO of Amir Khan
Might not be AS good as that knockout but I'd bet good good money that Floyd stops him in 6-8 rounds

Re: judges again...
I scored it 116-113 for Kahn. Kahn won the late rounds and won the fight. The judges who scored it 9 to 3 that was too wide and anyone who scored it for Chris also did not score the fight correctly.
Re: judges again...
I missed 3 rounds (9, 10, 11).
From what i seen scoring was fairly easy, even in the rounds Khan won he did so on the back foot doing little himself.
r1 - CA clear
r2- AK clear
r3- CA easy
r4- CA dominant
r5- AK clear
r6- AK clear
r7- CA clear
r8- CA clear
r9 na
r10 na
r11 na
r12- CA clear
Even in the orunds Khan clearly won he did so on the back foot, never pressed the action, never hurt nor deterred CA. This isn't amatuer boxing, Algieri consistenly landed the meatiest punches. His right hand couldn't miss, he telegraphed it all night, he just lacked power for the KO or it was goodnight Khan in inside 5. His lead left hook, landed time & time again, hence the grilling from Virgil Hunter between rounds. And his body work was excellent too, ripped Khan with left hook/right hook combos.
From the 9 rounds I seen I can't see how it scores differently from 6-3 Algieri, Khan would have to have won 9, 10 & 11 to get the fight even, yet what did the judges give Chris, 3 rounds!? What a fuckin joke, but I guess.... he was never supposed to win.

I didn't bother scoring. Algieri was the aggressor and seemed to land the more telling blows. However, Khan landed more shots... It was a close fight. Could have gone either way.

Re: judges again...
I hate Khan's personality. I think he is a total d-bag.
And even I had Khan winning 116-112.
Khan will lose to any real welterweight contender. The guy is so over rated

That scoring is a joke. You can't score Algieri's touches as real punches.sucracristo wrote:you can't land 3 hard shots and get outscored 47-1 and expect a victory.ikorolev wrote:Judges did a fine job this time. They did a poor job when they gave Algieri a win over Provo.

Re: judges again...
It was a very close fight. I scored it a draw.
I can see 115-113 for Khan, but not 117-111.

Re: judges again...
I like dozens of non-Soviet fighters more than Provo, but giving that fight to Algieri propelling him to a level where he clearly doesn't belong was just a hometown gift.Tanzio wrote: Your man love for former Soviet Bloc fighters is a much more humorous joke.

I wanted The Provoglodyte to win that fight. He didn't. He has only himself to blame.ikorolev wrote:I like dozens of non-Soviet fighters more than Provo, but giving that fight to Algieri propelling him to a level where he clearly doesn't belong was just a hometown gift.Tanzio wrote: Your man love for former Soviet Bloc fighters is a much more humorous joke.
Khan could have lost by decision last night. If he had, I would have disagreed with the decision but it would not have been a travesty of justice, and neither was Algieri's W over The Provoglodyte.
Re: judges again...
I completely agree with this review. No one deserved to get their hands raised in this one. I watched the fight twice to see if maybe I was too pro Algieir and the only thing that I can determine is that the judges must have been scoring those flurries Khan was throwing. From what i could tell watching twice, very little of those punches scored. Maybe the damage on Algieri's face helped Khan's cause but i'm at a loss with the scoring lately. This judges need to know it's ok to score a round as a tie. It happens more often then not but they never call a round a draw.Blodhemn wrote:Algieri didn't dominate, you're sounding as delusional as the people who scored it wide for Khan. Re: judges again...
I despise Khan, pulled for that weak chinned little dog to get KO'd by the feather fisted Algieri. Good to see he was rocked on several occasions. Imagine what even Mayweather could do to that Macau chin.
That being said, I had Khan ahead 116-112. Too many of you guys are again impressed by the aggressiveness shown by Algieri. But the faster hands, the cleaner, sharper punches belonged to the Brit.
The decision was spot on. I'll just have to wait until Mayweather gets a piece of that slimebag and quickly score his first KO in more than 4 years.

Khan did very little, the punch numbers i'm sure were pretty even. So you have Khan on his bike, throwing pitty-patty combos in an attempt to keep Algieri off him, but to no avail. Algieri walked him down, landed beautiful left-hook leads, overhand rights, and ripped the body with hooks all night.
It was a good fight tbh, both guys scored alot of eye catching stuff but Algieri the far more eye catching work, a more effective jab, and was the bigger stronger man continually pushing the action.
Too many fights are being scored like amateur bouts, clear win for Algieri last night.
Re: judges again...
Algieri punched like an amateur. Khan was cautious, but his punches were still better.Ricky_ wrote: Too many fights are being scored like amateur bouts, clear win for Algieri last night.

116 112 Khan is probably what would have been my score
