I wonder what would happen if Joshua hit Fury after the bell.

Yes. You don't?SamWise72 wrote:He will punch back, but he won't be able to lean on Joshua, and you have to fancy AJ to hit him at least as clean as Cunningham did. Think Fury will get up and fancy a bit more?
Did you used to think Price would batter everyone in the division as well?SamWise72 wrote:I don't rate Fury at all, but I'm starting to have real hope for Joshua

I can easily imagine him doing something that can get him sent down for a few years.davie wrote:That's one of the most random things i've ever read on here.
What about AJ makes you think he might abduct a stripper and end up in an assylum? Because he punches after the bell occasionally? Hardly evidence of bi-polar disorder.
I was in 2 minds whether to even respond to that first comment as I thought you may have just been jokingHorse wrote:I can easily imagine him doing something that can get him sent down for a few years.davie wrote:That's one of the most random things i've ever read on here.

He comes across as very sinister to me.
Sure he doesn't.SamWise72 wrote:He's proved he can punch, and cut off the ring. We don't know about his stamina or his chin yet, but we know Fury has neither.
The Johnson win is a much lesser win than Fury's win over Cunningham or two wins over Chisora. It's also at the same level as his win over Hammer.Tuan_Jim wrote:I think the only man more devastated than Kevin Johnson today must be Horse. He's been clinging to Tyson Fury's points win over Johnson as evidence of the giant's class for a couple of years now - and now Anthony Joshua has done exactly what a serious prospect should do with a passive, limited journeyman like Johnson, and that's bludgeon him.
Joshua also cheated disgustingly against Gavern recently, so it's not just an accident, it's something he chooses to do.Tuan_Jim wrote:It's a fist fight and infringements happen. Fury was going to fight Pulev but pulled out to fight Haye, which was a much better fight.Tuan_Jim wrote:Tyson Fury wanted nothing to do with David Price, nothing to do with Kubrat Pulev, and he'll want nothing to do with Joshua - who for all the sickening hype is obviously far more well rounded than any of the above and would splatter a comical goon like Fury (and his cousin) in probably a round a piece.
How does beating Johnson make Chisora and Price a waste of time?mikiesb wrote:There are now.only three.options for him in the uk. Haye if he is still fighting fury and dillan whyte. No point fighting price or chisora IMO. Dillan whyte would b logically best fight for.him at this Stage. would like aj to do traditional route British Commonwealth euro
Joshua is not beyond British or Commonwealth title level.handsofstone wrote:TBH I'd like to see Joshua go down the traditional title route, even though he's clearly beyond it,certainly British and Commonwealth anyway but if he avoids it he may end up at world level too soon, the European titles maybe the most logical step,if he keeps going down the International route and winning then he'll be knocking on Wlad or Wilder's door in about 4 fights, which will be about 8 months time, which IMO however good he's looking, might be too much too soon
Unless he gets Wider first, wins then makes a few defences before fighting Klitschko in about 2 years
Or he might go and get chinned from Thompson in a round
I agree in standings he's not beyond British and Commonwealth level,Fury,Haye and maybe Price are above so unless its Chisora,Browne or Whyte, there's probably no point in wasting his time there after demolishing Johnson so effortlessly but any of those 3 would be a step in the right directionHorse wrote:Joshua is not beyond British or Commonwealth title level.handsofstone wrote:TBH I'd like to see Joshua go down the traditional title route, even though he's clearly beyond it,certainly British and Commonwealth anyway but if he avoids it he may end up at world level too soon, the European titles maybe the most logical step,if he keeps going down the International route and winning then he'll be knocking on Wlad or Wilder's door in about 4 fights, which will be about 8 months time, which IMO however good he's looking, might be too much too soon

I'd favour Joshua to beat Whyte, Chisora, Browne etc., but that doesn't mean he shouldn't fight them and actually pick up the real wins, instead of the imaginary ones.
It's not as if there are dozens of better international opponents out there. If Joshua did nothing else except compete in British or Commonwealth title bouts in his next 5 fights, he'd quite likely be ranked in the world's top 5.
I doubt Johnson is particularly devastated tbh - he wasn't in there to win (as usual), he'd likely have put all his money on a Joshua win if he was allowed.Tuan_Jim wrote:I think the only man more devastated than Kevin Johnson today must be Horse. And marketability.Boxerbeetle wrote:Joshua does need to sort out these punches after the bell/when the opponent is floored though, not a good habit to get into & could cost him points or even a fight down the line.
It's not really wasting time if he's fighting every month or so.handsofstone wrote:I agree in standings he's not beyond British and Commonwealth level,Fury,Haye and maybe Price are above so unless its Chisora,Browne or Whyte, there's probably no point in wasting his time there after demolishing Johnson so effortlessly but any of those 3 would be a step in the right direction
