Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I have a feeling that Froch will fight DeGale even though Golovkin is still being mentioned:

Why did they even score Bradley vs Provodnikov? Just look in Ruslan's face & you know who lost.ikorolev wrote:Objective judges in professional boxing certainly take quality and effectiveness of punches into consideration, and fighters' faces reflect that quality and effectiveness.Tanzio wrote:Pssst . . . If you think that judges are not influenced by how fighters' faces look, you are a fool.

Looks like Hearn is in hiding again:

Golovkin will probably need to face another nobody.

The only person looking foolish on this thread is the one who thinks that boxers get extra credit at the end of fights if their face is less a mess than their opponent.ikorolev wrote:If you think that judges are not influenced by how fighters' faces look, you are a fool.
I repeat; boxing is scored one round at a time.
A judge who takes into account the cosmetic condition of a fighter's face in scoring (beyond the effectiveness of the shots that caused it) is a poor judge.

Runaway and hide if you like, it won't change the FACT that fights are judged one round at a time and the FACT that extra credit is not given at the end of the fight to the boxer with the prettiest face.ikorolev wrote:... and I am done arguing with the fool who can't distinguish theory from reality.Tanzio wrote:The only person looking foolish on this thread is the one who thinks that boxers get extra credit at the end of fights if their face is less a mess than their opponent.ikorolev wrote:If you think that judges are not influenced by how fighters' faces look, you are a fool.

In the majority of the cases the fighter whose face is most messed up loses, not because his face is a mess but rather because of the scoring blows that made his face a mess.
In the case of Algieri, the vast majority of the damage that you submit as evidence that The Provoglodyte got robbed was done by one shot in one round that the Russian got his due credit for.
You may resume your completely illogical denial of the facts backed up with evidence that actually proves you wrong, sprinkled with name calling. Unless you are more comfortable curled up in a ball in the corner.

I'm suspecting Heiland, though I think there's an outside chance of it being N'dam if he beats Lemieux. Hopefully the Cotto-Canelo victor faces GGG in their first bout after winning.ikorolev wrote:Looks like Hearn is in hiding again:

Cotto-Canelo winner will only be ready for GGG next spring. Gennady will probably fight twice before that.crusader wrote:I'm suspecting Heiland, though I think there's an outside chance of it being N'dam if he beats Lemieux. Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I notice that Heiland is ranked #1 by the WBC with GGG being the mandatory. If Cotto drops the belt it seems like that fight would be sanctioned for the vacant title.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Then the fight against Heiland will likely not be next for Gennady, as Cotto will likely wait till the last possible moment before dropping the title or being stripped.crusader wrote:I notice that Heiland is ranked #1 by the WBC with GGG being the mandatory. Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Perhaps they could make the fight with Heiland anyway and just add the WBC title later if Cotto decides to drop it, though I'm not sure if Heiland initially taking the bout w/o the WBC title on the line would result in him losing his ranking.

In terms of scoring judges aren't affected by the condition of fighters' faces. Casual fans might get swayed by the sight of blood or swelling, but not judges.ikorolev wrote:If you think that judges are not influenced by how fighters' faces look, you are a fool.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
It was clear already from Hearns recent interview that he doesnt fancy the fight. I am not quite sure why that is, a massive event, he stands to make shitloads of money. Is he afraid of the fact that if GGG tears Froch apart it will somehow damage his brand. Or is he as nice a guy as he is masquerading himself, caring about his fighters/friends health and future happiness.
At least they cant hide behind that "its not a PPV fight in the USA" bullshit anymore. If Froch fights he has to fight Golovkin.

Degale-Froch would make more money, sell out a stadium and UK PPV.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Golovkin is not mentioned anymore:

I can understand Carl. Why take a bad beating in his last fight when he could take an easier path ?

If Carl Froch fights again, I am 99.9 % sure it will be Gennady Golovkin.

Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
That's a very different statement than saying Froch has to fight Golovkin. There are loads of potential fights for Froch out there.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Yes they wont take him out and shoot him if he doesnt.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Yeah that day is inevitable, the body just can't take it or do it anymore. I was hoping he would have retired by now, great champion.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I can understand your frustration at golovkin's inability to secure a big fight. He's perhaps the best offensive fighter in boxing and he's willing to make the big fights happen.ikorolev wrote:Now it sounds like Carl is done:

I don't think froch is in fear of a beating, though he clearly understands how dangerous this fight is. If anything froch relishes a good battle, which this certainly would be. He's been one of the most Willing and fierce in boxing since 2008. It's just that James degale's win over dirrell is fresh, and presents a lucrative alternative. Froch surely wants a final, big fight and is weighing options following the pounding of Chavez Jr by fonfara. I don't believe the talk by Hearn of retirement - this could just be the rhetoric of a promoter whose fighter is still yet to decide.
It does not reflect badly on froch or Hearn if they don't proceed with a golovkin fight. Nor should we presume that froch would take a terrible beating - or even lose to triple G. Carl's resume is a strong one, 10 of his last 11 opponents have been world class -and he usually produces great work when things get really tough, when the arms feel heavy, when the throat and lungs are aching from gasping in thAt oxygen, in the late rounds. This guy knows about imposing himself in hard fights - and the only fighter he avoided was Adonis Stevenson, more out of indifference (and he did take the bigger,if not more dangerous matchup, Kessler 2).
If golovkin were close to a fight with Miguel cotto or Saul Alvarez, I'm sure he might consider different opponents than froch.

golovkin team need to pursue Andy lee next or accept Lara fight after this weekend
