Re: Annoying things boxers do
I think the word "kid" is generally used by everyone in boxing. I've heard 30 year old fighters get refered to as "hes a good kid" all the time. Doesn't grate on me in the slightestjamiedavies02 wrote:Referring to their opponent/ other boxers as "kid" regardless of age.

"Who do you want to face next?"
"I'll let my management team/promoter decide that"
I"d like Max Kellermans response to go something like this
You'll what? You'll let other people decide what you want?
I asked who YOU wanted to fight, grow a effing pair and give me a straight answer you complete shiterag.
Also, the first question I asked you when I stuck the microphone in your stupid face wasn't "who would you like to thank?", it's never "who would you like to thank?", it varies everytime I interview one of you effing automatons yet you all regurgitate the same poo. Just answer the effing question, al haymons and god never ever have anything to do with what i asked
And while you're at it please stop answering every other question with pre-scripted muthafuckin cliches
Tempered only slightly by my realisation that they just got out the ring with someone trying to kill them.

Spot on...
Iv always said he's great Kid, watch out for this Kid etc
If it's on the street and nothing to do with boxing I wouldn't use the word.
Re: Annoying things boxers do
When boxers complain about their opponent's style after the fight. Especially when they've had a full 8-12 week training camp to prepare for it.

Refuse to fight someone because they don't want to give them the pay day
instead of admitting that there is a real chance of getting beat and they then couldn't walk down the street without being ridiculed.

Denying they were hurt when they clearly were.

Killing off our rain forest's!!!
Re: Annoying things boxers do
pretending they got up at 9 when they clearly wanted to quit
Re: Annoying things boxers do
When a fighter says they feel the best theyve ever been regardless of age and camps gone really well no injuries and when the fights over the excuses come out or I didn't stick to the fornicating game plan.
Re: Annoying things boxers do
Pretty much everything, same goes for other sports.
Everything's a big cliche now, 110%, really up for this fight, believe you me, it's as simple as that, but that's boxing, y'know what I mean, pound for pound, my fists feed my family etc.
Oh yeah and as stated the American trait of thanking God.

That does annoy me. But Enzo Maccarinelli doing a Usain Bolt impression when he fought Haye got on my nerves too so I guess I'm quite specific with how long I think a fighter should take when making their entrance.misterpunch wrote:take too long to get to the f...ing ring
Re: Annoying things boxers do
Good one. That and 'I came to fight and entertain the fans but he wasn't interested', said by a losing fighter who was completely outboxed and humiliated by the better man.ElJefe wrote:When boxers complain about their opponent's style after the fight. Re: Annoying things boxers do
Call for a rematch when they just got lashed.
Lose ten out of twelve rounds and raise their hands as the winner at the end.
Let managers/promoters drop their world titles instead of fighting someone.
Talk the talk and not walk the walk.
George Groves pretty much saying Froch only landed one punch in two fights. Bell........end.

When a boxer succumbs without offering any resistance, and the winner credits him for showing heart.

Re: Annoying things boxers do
My biggest complaint about boxing is that promoters, cornermen and associated others storm the ring at the end of the fight, meanwhile the doctor struggles to get to the fighter who's been knocked out cold and could end up in a coma.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. BBBofC TAKE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
