Though I do agree JMM is not a true welter he has competed in the division being with in the
weight limit.

Not at all most fighters fight a little above the weight unless it's a title fight ,it's just that there are so many silly titles now that many fighters have to make weight in many of their fights , marques isn't a welter weight no more than ray Leonard is a light heavy weight

and back to your topic. Yes manny is an atg, with or with out the fight with mw. manny will be remembered and honored as the guy whom whent throug the weights, fought the absolute best and went way in over his head to achieve his goals. he lost a few, but did so in style, so to speak.

Second, learn how to correctly interpret what was written, i never said DLH or SSM were in their prime when he fought either of them but they both weren't as shopworn as when your hero MP fought them.

Even if Manny had beaten Floyd, he couldn't erase being knocked out cold by JMM. That one really hurts when you look back because none of the great Welterweights have that kind of blemish on their record. I think that Manny will still go down as a top 5 Welterweight and one of the most popular fighters in the history of the sport.

I really don't think that the loss affects Manny's legacy. I equate the fight with Floyd to an exhibition because nothing was determined in that mess of a night. When one fighter doesn't want to engage and has elite defensive tools, there's not much the other boxer can do except take chances and get countered trying to make it a fight. That's exactly what happened. I don't take anything away from Manny for his performance that night. It was the JMM fight that really did damage to Manny's legacy, not the mess with Floyd.

If you call Cherrypicking a prime Maidana, prime Corrales, prime Canelo, Oscar, Mosley as cherrypicking then you may as well call Manny a Cherrypicker as well also.

I don't think the Mayweather loss should effect his legacy one bit.
In my opinion instead of judging him as a welter I think his best weight was Super-Feather and IMO he's the best super feather of all time.
