Floyd in his prime was unreal. Even at his advanced age he is doing well for himself, top p4p fighter at 38. You look at the past legends and by 38 most of them were already done. Floyd wont be fully appreciated until 5 to 10 years after he retires...maybe longer but one day he will be appreciated more.KBB wrote:for me the best ever is Floyd jr, in his prime

his game slightly, but just enough to support
his abilities at this age.
i think he will over the years get more credit
for his offensive game. it is just not true that
he is great defensively only.

it also annoys me when mma fans or even some boxing fans claim floyd is a feather fisted pillow puncher when he is not that bad in terms of power. floyd just doesnt sit down on his punches because he likes to box , move, pivot ect.
Re: Please give what you think is the #1 boxer ever points in the most important categorys!!!
Floyd in his prime won a very controversial decision against Jose Castillo in their first fight. Nobody would have complained at the time had that decision gone to the Mexican.
I do agree that Floyd carries more power and is a lot stronger than he's given credit for. If he really was the feather fisted weaking some make him out to be he would have been found out long before now.

u know floyd fought with an injured shoulder right? i think the decision should have went to castillo myself but dont think that fight should take away from floyds greatness. heck ali arguably lost to doug jones early in his career, thought jones shoulda got the fight myselfjohnswan1 wrote:Floyd in his prime won a very controversial decision against Jose Castillo in their first fight. Ali also should have had 2 losses to Kenny Norton. No great shame there, Norton was a great fighter, was unlucky to not get those decisions, and to be around when he was, had he peaked in the 1980's he would have been a world champ, he was just that bit past it when he fought Holmes, but gave him one hell of a fight still!CrazyHorse wrote:u know floyd fought with an injured shoulder right? i think the decision should have went to castillo myself but dont think that fight should take away from floyds greatness. heck ali arguably lost to doug jones early in his career, thought jones shoulda got the fight myselfjohnswan1 wrote:Floyd in his prime won a very controversial decision against Jose Castillo in their first fight. I think that's exactly the right way to look at it. Yes, Floyd got a gift against Castillo, but the only reason it's ever worth bringing that up is that so many of his fans -- not to mention Floyd himself -- do so much bragging about his unbeaten record. But that asterisk on his "0" is not the same as disputing what a great fighter he has been.CrazyHorse wrote:u know floyd fought with an injured shoulder right? i think the decision should have went to castillo myself but dont think that fight should take away from floyds greatness. heck ali arguably lost to doug jones early in his career, thought jones shoulda got the fight myselfjohnswan1 wrote:Floyd in his prime won a very controversial decision against Jose Castillo in their first fight. I think he is referring to Norton vs HolmesRexob wrote: Ali was completely shot, not a bit past it! when Holmes kept him up for most of the fight and looked terrible in the process and a shell of his former self at only 38

Can't use the injury excuse because if you do it for Mayweather Castillo, you have to do it for Mayweather Pacquiao also to be fair.

I've been watching boxing for 38 years, so yes, I've seen Floyd in his prime and I saw enough to know that he is nowhere near a 9 out of 10 power puncher.CrazyHorse wrote:You never watched Floyd much in his prime have you? Why do you have a problem with MY rating? Yes I have watched Floyd and in his biggest fights he's stopped his toughest competition in his prime, Manfredy stopped, Corrales stopped and knocked down for the first time in any of his bouts, he hit the deck 5 times but you can just kiss my ass if you don't agree or accept this because this is my rating, not yours.CrazyHorse wrote:You never watched Floyd much in his prime have you? For all I care you can put him as a 2, 1 or zero and that's your rating, you won't hear nothing from me on it. You guys always have a problem with anyone giving Floyd credit for anything.

I wasnt referring my comment to you, I was backing up what you were saying. That other guy disagreed with your "9" for power. I said Floyd was a great puncher in his prime. I said I didn't think he was a 9 personally but was close to it. Read those comments over againKBB wrote:Why do you have a problem with MY rating? speedwise very fast at his prime, but no 10, 10 is the fastest, like prime roy, floyd was a 9,5. look at the judah mayweather fight, even judah was faster than floyd and judah aint faster than prime roy
power, like an 8 and the rest is pretty acurate.
