Jones was a completely different build to Robinson, he was at his best at 168, and probably walked around over 175, whereas Robinson was at his best at 147 or less.
With next day weigh ins, Robinson would probably have been competing at 135 for much of his career in this era, moving up to 147 for the rest, and having only a brief foray at 160.
Robinson was sleight at 160 and in always looked a little soft compared to his welterweight heyday, and was far more beatable, despite still being one of the greats. At 147, he was the best in the world for five years, before he even got a title fight.
