I think people read too much into Jack's stoppage loss. His durability has looked fine apart from that and it wasn't long ago that he fairly beat Dirrell (he seems to get little credit for this), who had tough Sakio Bika all over the place in their fights. Add Groves not looking too hot since the Froch bouts and I was surprised that he was so strongly favored here.

One thing I do know is bugglioni has no chance against these guys and I'm getting annoyed about them mentioning him as someone who is up in their league. I'm betting big on chudinov.

You can usually tell with how the scoring is if there's a kd. Very few judges in the USA give even rounds it seems so when I heard 116-111 we all knew. Similar with the first McDonnell Kameda fight given it was 114-113 on all cards.

Only one fighter was getting a 116-111 in their favour, which is a pretty poor scorecard tbh.

I had it 116-111 Jack but im on the drink and whatnot and had a mate in until late in the fight when he vomited and effed off sharpish and there was a loads of tit for tat rounds where it was give and take,Groves was as brave as ever,his self belief is admirable,Jack again really impressed me with his boxing savvy,i probably give him too much harshness(is that a word? it is now) because of the 1st round KO to Edwards but he's a very capable boxer


In a close fight like this,its amazing how a fighters appearence affects the scoring,Groves looked haggard,Jack looked slick so thats prob how went with him in the close rounds even though they were both landing

Jack just a bit cleaner,sharper and more hurtful for me though

I'm pretty sure I've won the last 6 boxing bets I've done in a row. The only bets I have right now are ones I put on months ago. I've got a betting slip from Coral which has a Badou Jack and BJS win double. So I guess that's a winner because the BJS fight wasn't rescheduled within 30 days (now taking place in December). I'll pop over to the shop tomorrow and find out.

The other bet I've got is £45 on Wlad to beat Fury in rounds 1-4 @ 7/1 with lads.

Martinez-Salido - WOW, this is FOTY material.

The intensity in that fight was unreal,reminded me of Corales-Castillo 1,i had it a draw,Martinez clawed it back,i had the last round even,was gonna give it to Salido for knocking Martinez's gum shield out but really there was nothing in it,i wouldnt argue who won

Thats a def FOTY candidate for me,ive seen a lot of game opponents but those 2 were epic,i cant believe the heart both showed,Salido looks unbelievable for someone with his career(hmmm) Id love to see the punch stats because that was unreal output from 1st to last


The tragedy is this fight will be far under the radar when Mayweather boxes to a easy albeit beautiful shut out

Glowacki-Huck and Santa Cruz-Mares were excellent but this was better IMO

I don't think George has been right since the first Froch fight. He left a lot of himself in the ring that night. Splitting with Booth wasn't helpful. He wouldn't have had him favouring quantity over quality as he has done in his last three bouts.
