Almost has to be seen to be believed. Its like it was plucked straight from the script of a Rocky filmRedback Rasta wrote:I can't think of a more inspiring performance by an Aussie fighter than Jeff Harding's in his fight fight with Dennis Andres.
In only Harding's 15th pro fight he took on the 34-7-2 Dennis Andries for his WBC world light heavyweight title in Atlantic City.
Harding had Johnny Lewis in his corner. Andries had the legendary Emanuel Steward in his.
The last round - especially after Johnny Lewis' words in the corner prior to it - is just hairs standing up on the back of your neck stuff.
If this fight isn't near the top of your favourites list I'd like to know why!?
Best fights involving Aussies & Pacific fighters you have seen??

Very much so. I just about cried when I heard Harding's ring interview immediately after the fight.Tinnie wrote:Almost has to be seen to be believed. I've watched that last round nearly as often as I have watched Hagler vs Hearns, and it gets me every time.

Fights don't get more brutal and fighters rarely dig deeper than a fight that was billed as "Bad Blood" between Victorian 'Tiger' Tim Bell and Queenslander Joel Casey for the PABA light heavyweight championship back in 2010.
The fight started at a frenetic pace and might just as easily been held in a phone box. During the final few rounds both boxers were just fighting from memory.
Bell hasn't fought since and I dare say that is no coincidence because those 12 rounds took their toll on both boys.

He means it was an anti-climax because it was so one sided. Hardly an exciting fight, no back and forth, not at all close or exciting. Just one boxer being thoroughly outclassed by another.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:Its just the thing you said about the Mundine/Green fight being a anti-climax........who for :?? its boxing at its bestRedback Rasta wrote:Good list. Kali Meehan vs Lamon Brewster for the WBO title was a quality scrap. Meehan unlucky to get the nod too.

never seen 2 fighters tag each other constantly with huge bombs and both to still be standing at the end.
fight has to be seen to be believed.
is there video of this?

nobody has provided it that I know of.

I agree with buster007. It was FOX show I viewed at local RSL. Fox Sports coverage is subject to copyright, therefore a friend with Foxtel at the time, might still have it recorded in iQ boxCutman Scabbers wrote:buster007 wrote:alex leapai vs Pieter cronje was an absolute war.
