LOL Green had never been stopped before fighting Ward, I would not call him Chinny because he got KO'd later in his career, Miranda had only been stopped by devastating punchers like Pavlik & Abraham before fighting Ward. Ward is one of my favourite fighters and I have followed his career closely, I will be very disappointed if he fights Murdock.
Also I never said Ward was a devastating puncher, I said I laugh at idiots who say he can't punch, I also said Murdock will find out the difference real quick what it's like to be hit by a world class fighter compared to being his by low level Australian boxers.
Before he fought Ward in the SS Green was badly hurt and nearly stopped by clubfighter Donny McCreary, while he was down twice against Miranda and would've likely been stopped if the bout were scheduled for another round. Then shortly after taking plenty of clean shots from Ward yet never looking in serious trouble, Green was dropped and knocked out by fellow SS participants Glen Johnson and Mikkel Kessler (a brutal KTFO). In fact, he has been hurt and in major trouble against every high-level fighter he's faced, except for Andre Ward of course. It's a similar story with Miranda, and aside from his earlier stoppage losses he was heavily and quickly stopped by Bute shortly after taking Ward 12 and never looking in trouble.
Then we have people like Rodriguez, Smith, and Buchanan who again took Ward's punches just fine, so there is plenty of evidence that Ward doesn't show much power even when he's facing non-elite opponents like Froch and Kessler. He's only clearly hurt weight-drained Dawson and poor opposition, and even in those cases he typically won via steady beating rather than by laying his opponents out like a puncher would (has he ever done that?).
Of course Ward is far better than an inexperienced, domestic level fight like Murdock, and I suspect that if they fought he'd stop him eventually on an accumulation of blows as was the case with Smith, but it's hardly laughable that people don't think Ward can punch.
