I don't believe anyone has mentioned Riddick Bowe yet, which is surprising. He always comes to mind for me when I think of Young fighters who were finished early.

Re-read the posts. I've started to get the impression over the past few months that barely anyone reads posts other than their own. The amount of times you see the same thing written by different people is astonishing.

That is one of my favourites; Gomez had been written off and Arthur was coming back into it with hard body shots, Gomez gave it one last go and it was breathtaking.

An old timer, who some might not know, was the hard hitting Artie Levine (1941-49). He turned pro at 16, trained by Marciano's trainer Charlie Goldman, had 72 fights and retired aged just 24.

He is probably most famous for knocking the great Sugar Ray Robinson down for a nine count that actually lasted for around 20 seconds. Robinson said Levine was the hardest puncher he ever faced. Tough fighter.

Skilled boxer vs brawler
Both vulnerable
Both had hearts of lions
Terrific action fight
Darke and McCrory on commentary (their best call of a fight I think. darke especially really was superb)

Fernando Vargas

He's only 37 today, but was shot by 2005 aged about 27.

I reading about him rattling off 17 or 18 stoppages when he began, then got took the distance by Winky, then halted by Felix, Oscar, Mosely, Mayorga etc.

To be fair, Vargas had hypothyroidism, which means he had absolute murders making weight, which at the least contributed to his being finished so young.

Used to love watching him fight, probably put in with TITO too soon, but I guess he got big bucks for it. He's a decent actor too.
