Re: PTBF 2015 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD - UPDATED: NOV 22
Hi my points for this week was zero, looks like it might be the dash in my name instead of underscore:
The-Truth, Alvarez, Decision, Wide X2
Could it be amended please? Thanks

Will I be getting my points? Cheers
Re: PTBF 2015 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD - UPDATED: NOV 22
December 18: Denis Shafikov vs Rances Barthelmey
IBF World Lightweight Title.
Worth adding in? Boxrec no. 3 vs. no. 6?
I know Claude mentioned it before but thought it worth mentioning again in case.

I edited my pick about 15 minutes before they got in ring. Is that too late?

didn't realize I had 2 x2 picks left... top 25 again...
Re: PTBF 2015 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD - FINAL
A tough second. Leaving 2X's out there; absolutely criminal on my part. I still await a 1st place...
Congratulations to The_Truth.
JCS; a huge thanks to you for yet another truly fantastic competition.

Updated again. Was testing a last-minute change and dropped the Fury/Klitschko picks.

Thank goodness it is over
Most importantly, thank you JCS! I sincerely appreciate your efforts.

Nah... season over.
Any interest in a 12th season? Any ideas for changes?

I, and I'm sure many are with me on this, feel there is huge appetite for another season. Simply no better or challenging Prediction League out there anywhere.JCS wrote:Nah... season over.

As for changes, some may disagree here but I think it's good as it is. It's a great competition; if you wanted to make tweaks then I'm sure it would work. Nothing too drastic though!
That's my 2 pence.

I'd love another season as well. I have to stop my downward spiral... ;)
Re: PTBF 2015 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD - FINAL
Thanks fellas.
I certainly don't mind another season, but it seems with each new season... I need more and more help maintaining the fight schedule. Either the size of my brain is decreasing or the amount of everything else piles up with time.. but it's tough to keep track of new fights, postponements, cancels, etc.
I know some of you (especially claude) try to help out, but I gotta think of a better way to do this in 2016.
I'm always open to a tweak here or a tweak there.. aka minor changes.

Cheers JCS, definitely up for another season
Re: PTBF 2015 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD - FINAL
I returned toward the end of the season, and I really had a mediocre run of it, but as a former Silver Cup runner. I want to be among the top of the rankings next year.
I shall return. PTBF 2016, I want the Gold

There's no Silver Cup beneath your name. If you want it to be displayed next season, simply tell JCS under which name(s) you have played the former seasons. The Revival wrote:I returned toward the end of the season, and I really had a mediocre run of it, but as a former Silver Cup runner. hi JCS, great comp, looking forward to the next one
my suggestion would be to incorporate the DFtP metric into the points calculation, by way of a multiplier
i.e. to give an increased points award the more difficult the fight is to predict (based on entrants selections)
cheers, pete

I've thought about that, but that's a major change.pete thebet wrote:hi JCS, great comp, looking forward to the next one

Re: PTBF 2015 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD - FINAL
If people don't lose points (with the size of drop depending on the difficulty) for incorrect picks I don't think they should get extra points for correctly predicting 'difficult fights'.
Let's say we have:
-10 fights
-4 difficult
-4 easy
-2 medium
One person correctly predicts 6 (4 difficult and 2 medium) and another person also correctly predicts 6 (4 easy and 2 medium). Were the first person's predictions really superior when, unlike most participants, they failed to get the easy fights? Why shouldn't those misses offset their correct predictions of the difficult bouts?
